best item in the game:.10 version
In .09, the vote was for harle and stormshield.
Runewords weapons, of course :cheesy:
Enigma and Annihilus. Hands down.
Upgraded unique (titans, buriza, viscautarat) There are two errors in the above line:
viscautarat (Should have been: Visceratuant)
buriza is one of the exceptionals that can not be upgraded (thank god)
But it's a hands down to Rune-word armour... I stated in a different post:
Enigma is broken.
The perfect rare would be the best weapon in the game...if you were amazingly lucky...Enigma might be broken in PvP, but I don't have a problem with it PvM...
A Buriza can be upgraded. It isn't worth to do that anyway. Just compare the ballista with the colossus crossbow. Most of its damage comes from the damage per level bonus.
yep it can be upgraded. i upgraded mine, and it added 400 additional damage to my total. well worth it, imho.
that's why i voted for upgraded. i'm also dreaming of an eth upgraded titans and skulders.
The ridiculous ED/Elemental damage + the Auras!
EDIT: Oh ya, and Annihilus
What more can you ask for one spot of inv space that can boost you from death to tank. Annhilus all the way...
is it that good? i seem to be doing fine without any of them.
What I wanted to say is that there are weapons that will benefit from upgrading in muich greater extent.
A ballista does 33-55 damage (44 average), while a colossus crossbow does 32-91 (61.5 average).
An upgraded 200% Buriza will give you 3*(61.5-44) = 52.5 more average damage. Total average damage for let's say a L80 character is 3*44+80*2.5 = 332. A colossus crossbow adds 52.5 to that which is about 16%. That's not that much, although it's better than nothing, of course. However, a colossus crossbow has a strength req of 163. You don't need such a high strength score for anything else. Strangth doesn't add to damege with respect to missile weapons. IMO that's a waste os stat points.
I purposely left out the cold damage, as it isn't subject to skill or dex modifications. It will make upgrading less desirable anyway.
i wasn't too concerned with str, as i was planning on eventually using a stormshield anyway.
i think the min-max thinking is dangerous, as it forces people into thinking that if they do something a little differently from other people their char is "useless." from my experiences, you can have a 300 stat point swing any way you want and the char can still work. i have base vit barbs, sorcs, necros and zons, all energy sorcs, and my poor zons with 184 str (154 + 30 str bonus from stormshield.)
also, my zon uses LF as her main killer, so str and dex are both irrelevant to the build. i'm thinking about making a dedicated upgraded buriza zon, but there's no skills that appeal to me in the bow tree with it.
OK, for a dedicated burizon there is no way around upgrading it, of course
Why use Stormshield? Just to show off? Doesn't make sense otherwise. It cannot be used with the xbow anyway. If you use javalin on switch, non of the javalins require that strength. For DR purpose, a shaft is better, since it offers you DR even when you use the xbow.
In terms of damage, of course you will get more damage if you don't upgrade and put that 50 stats into dex instead of str. Not too mention the extra dex give you a couple percentage better chance to hit.
Put having an upgraded Burrito makes it shiney...my friend upgraded an Occy just to look "pro" as he said
on my mf zon, it carries the bulk of the defense (75 block, 35 pdr, lightning resists, defense) so i can put all mf in my other slots. i think this is a worthy trade off, as on the switch with my buriza, i get no mf there either.
for throwing weps, strength does add damage.
regarding AR, the reasons are too complex to go into here, but lets just say i get itd anyway, so the only purpose for me to raise dex is for equipping.
it's a build-related comment. i'm sure there are builds that don't use stormshields, just not mine.
I'll be honest, I love my 198ED upgraded eth titans. I giggle evertime I look at them in my inventory. Of course the monsters have a different view of them...well, for about a second anyways.
For throwing weapons I think you get the same dmg bonus from Str and Dex. I think the ratio is 75/75... meaning for every str OR dex point added, you get .75% ed. I am also pretty sure that you DO get a damage bonus when using crossbows, but I think the Str/Dex ratio is like 10/90.
i can check, but i don't think so.
Throwing weapons is one thing, bow & crossbow class weapons is another ting. Latter get dmg bonus from dxt alone - no str. 75/75 ratio is right for javelins though. Conclussion: If you uppgraded your buri you can sill use your stong arm to throw your Titan´s... So may be this upgrade isn´t a total waste after all
