Best Council Runner?

I was just wondering what was the best character to run council with?

I've tried it with my orb/static sorc, but the fact that one is almost always immune to cold, it's kind of hard to kill all 3 everytime, which is what I'd like to do.

I was considering making a Hammerdin for this, but I got to thinking about how one of them is usually fire enchanted, and I think when he pops it would kill my hammerdin since I had to be pretty close to him to get him. I'd most likely always bring my BO Barb in(lvl 37/34 BO/Shout) to possibly help prevent a 1 hit kill from an FE.

I'm willing to try any build...So any help is appreciated

I can't imagine any character that would do it better than a Summon Necro... hit Pindle for some bodies, then head to Trav. Safe, easy, fast. :thumbsup:

I made a zerk barb for trav runs last season. Trying to remember gear as best i can.

Arreates with ed/ias jewel (16/15) i think
Lionheart/Ik Armor
Tgods
Raven / dwarf
Highlords
Wartravs
Stormshield
lifetap gloves(cant recall name )
GrandFather for sword (sometimes it pays to tele to throne)

He worked fairly well , went with a might merc i think. I prefer barbs over necros for trav for the simple fact that you can hork corpses after. And they can hork pretty nicely

While a summon ncero is certainly safe, I would never call him fast. My Hammerdin last season could kill the council on Hell difficulty 4 times in the time it took the necro to kill them once. Even with high level CE. The FE bug isn't as bad in hell difficulty and if you have high enough damage hammers they (the council) rarely get close to you.

Your best bet is either a Hammerdin or Ik Barb.

I like barbs for fighting against things that I can hork....


Having a decent lvl of mf on switch, hork their bodies...BOom. Instant free stuff.

Good Barb...........or Blizz Sorc and good Merc with some MF so when he kills the CI for you you might get a good drop.

I run council with my Blizz sorc and I use my Telek to stun the CI Member so my Merc can kill him safely with his pathetic gear!!!

im surprised noone has said bone nec

he is much, much faster than a summon necro, and if you were to really twink him up (basically, what the others suggested are uber twinked), the council dies in 2-3 spears. i think he is much safer than the hammaerdin, just because of range and the extra tank. a decent geared one can look like this:

shako
skullders
maras
homo
wiz (if low on mana) or white (+6 spear + some other good skill, pref clay)
arach
sojs or high mana fcrs
frosties (if fcrs) or trangs (if sojs)
marrows

charms to plug holes in res or mana

that looks like my old bone nec. he did very well overall (faster than summon in trav, but slower in solo baals)

I agree with Xey. I have never had one myself, but my friend Casey had one last season, and cleared the counsil in hell for me a few times, his bone necro was a little different than a pure boner though... he was more of a poison/bone necro than a pure bone, though for the counsil, he played it as a pure bone with only a few psn novas in there.

Basically, I dont know his gear, i know it was good. His strategy was this, cast his golem or whatever tanks up front, put bone walls between him and the counsil, curse them (dont know what he used, I would guess decrep), prison some individual ones, and spam bone spear at them... worked very well, and I would think a more focused bone only necro would work even better for the counsil than his psn/bone necro did.

ever seen necros with mightmerc and lvl 48 skel and skel mastery and the necro using a beast zerker axe and on switch cta and enigma armor ? ye they are damn fast he prolly to poor tho ^^ im making 1 on sc hehehe
