    Best bow for Frostmaiden?

What do you consider to be the absolute best bow for Frostmaiden?
I'm planning to make one, so I'm doing a little research ATM. :)
Also, is Melody in Mat bow good endgame option? the inherent +3 to B&CB skills on the bow + the 3 from the runeweord seems pretty solid! :) Or maybe Wizendraw, or Passion Mat bow? As you can see, I'm pretty confused. :teeth:
I may go with full M'avina's in the end!

Ermm i'd go for a valkyrie's stag bow of alacrity +3 bow & crossbows skill. :teeth: That's for a non-leech dependant build though, and its not exactly common. ^^

I agree, melody on a good bow looks great, too. Though i'd go for a stag or reflex bow instead, since you won't be doing significant phys dmg even with a matri bow. Its possible to deck out your character in extremely low str/dex req gear, and whack a whole lot of points into vita and energy. ^^

Lycander's is always a superb choice too. ;)

I'm an advocate of the low reqs/caster frostmaiden, thoughts do not apply for others. :D

If I don't use M'avina's, I'll definately use my Nightwing's, CoH wire etc, so I can forget about unusual low req setup chaos, but thanks for the advice! :) I guess I love to play standart builds... :(

I like Wizendraw. As long as you have good +skills and a few bow charms, it adds more damage than anything else - even on monsters with 0% cold resist, and it allows you to almost double your damage on high resist monsters (anything over 70% cold resist), where you really need help.

Of course, if you go for physical damage and mana leech then you'll definately want Lycanders - you won't be able to leech much with Wizendraw.

Okay, since we're on bows... If i were to upgrade, which would be better? A cliffkiller or a Goldstrike Arch? This is for a strafer... or a Witchwild?

Yeah, I know M'avina suits Frostmaidens really good, but I want to be unique! Anybody here using Melody bow? Don't think so... ;)
So, Wizendraw is option too? That's good, I guess I'll just have to try out which one is better.

Wizendraw is always better than a +6 bow melody after you have +4 or more base bow skills (before Melody).

Note, I've multiplied the base damage of Wizendraw by 1.35, to take into consideration the difference in cold resist for monsters with 0% cold resist.

    Code:
    0 in cold arrow:
    Plus to Skills 4 6 8 10
    Wizendraw 545 604 664 729
    Melody 540 588 636 684

    10 in cold arrow:
    Plus to Skills 4 6 8 10
    Wizendraw 1198 1329 1460 1603
    Melody 1188 1293 1399 1504

    20 in cold arrow:
    Plus to Skills 4 6 8 10
    Wizendraw 1853 2056 2257 2478
    Melody 1836 1999 2162 2325

As you can see, as you gain more +skills and more in cold arrow, the gap between Wizendraw and Melody increases. Against mosnters with cold resistance, Wizendraw, obviously, performs even better.

Now you can fire faster with Melody with good IAS, but sometimes it isn't even faster at all - Wizendraw is socketable (shael) and they both have a base WIAS of 20%. Not only that, but you can get a HUGE increase of damage if the monster your fighting has some cold resist. If the mosnter has 35% cold resist, you're dealing onscreen damage, while Melody is only firing 65% damage.

is this a vampyre or mage build? for vamp, i'd reccomend mavs; mana leech, good damage, can be upgraded if you want, +4 bow skills, yadda yadda. come to think of it, good mage bow too

edit: gaah meant to say lycanders of course

Why no one mention Hand Of Justice Runeword (Sur, Cham, Amn, Lo).

Yes the runes are hard to find but look at the mods. Its simply delicious. Wish i can have one for my FAzon.
Back to reality, my FAzon uses Mavina Full. Works great with a couple of Boreal charms

I was recommending bows for a magezon. But yes, Lycander's is the best bow for a vampzon.

Why hasn't anyone mentioned Call To Arms yet?

+1 all skills (effectively +2 with Battle Command), Battle Orders boosts your life -and- mana, meaning you can use your exploding/freexing/immolation arrows for a lot longer, great physical damage and speed, and it fits in a mat. bow as well!

Thanks for the input everyone, it'll be once upped Wizendraw then! :)
Btw the diff between vamp and mage are that the vamp relies on mana leech, while the mage relies on huge mana pool(ergo high regen), right?

@Dreamless: I've never saw a Cham, not to mention _wasting_ Cham, Sur and Lo into bow...Btw HoJ in bow is mostly PvP used, in PvM it'd suite fire zon better, I'll go cold route.

@ Brainfloss: I have one CtA weap, can't even dream about second, besides, Wizendraw will be better for magezon. :)

Btw what do you think will be better route to take, mage or vamp? Maybe mage will be better, but I want to know what do you think. :D

Mage mage mage! Screw the physical, that's what mercs and valks are for.

Of course it works better with lower reqs bows... :uhhuh:

    Don't mind me i'm biased. :D

Seriously though, if you're keen on using mav's set, vamp would do better, considering your gear restriction. Builds with themes (or sets) are always cool, and therefore gg. ^^

A mage build would encounter less problems along the way, especially in high PI-prone areas. Vamps would be hard pressed to keep the mana up fighting PIs, while mages would just have a laugh and keep shooting. Running around looking for mana pots are not cool, and therefore not gg.

    Choose wisely. :D

Mage then, tnx for the advice, chaos! :D

Btw set chars are _boring_ , not gg in my opinion, they restrict you, and many guys have the same chars, very cookie-cutter, down to every last bit of equip...
Besides, I really want to use my Nightwing's Veil! And of course, 7eh 1337 80VV - VV|23nDr4VV!! <--I have almost perfect one, on top of that! :p
