best armor for enigma?
Planning on making enigma - what armor do ppl usually use?
I guess that depends on how much strength your going to have, for base str builds alot of people use mage plate or breast plate, for a little higher str req but more defense dusk shroud and archon plate are used alot.
typically people use the light armors (archon plate/ mage plate) for the non-stamina drain, but right now I have seen the enigmas on breast plates (hardly any defense) all the way to shadow plate and the other heavy armors.
Just find a 3os superior armor
If you are on the LOD east, I have a stash of them. Just message me on here or in game. I can give you on for nothing.
U need to find a 3 soc armor only . Its good if the armor have ED
I have a 3 socket armour with defence around 450 plus, dont recall exact specs, but it also has the 15% ED mod. What overall defence would this give if an enigma is made in it?
The first Enigma I ever made was in a 15%ed Breast Plate, and it rolled with 773 defense, giving 852 def overall. The following are the only ones you really want to consider, since they are the most efficient in terms of strength requirements, defense output, and thus resale value:
Breast Plate (30 str, 854 max def)
Light Plate (41 str, 899 max def)
Mage Plate (55 str, 1076 max def)
Dusk Shroud (77 str, 1313 max def)
Wyrmhide (84 str, 1316 max def)
Scarab Husk (95 str, 1321 max def)
Archon Plate (103 str, 1378 max def)
Above that Hellforge Plate has the next highest defense, but a 196 strength requirement means it's out of the equation.
You also may see Enigma/other armors in a Wire Fleece, but at 111 str and less defense, it's inferior to an Archon in every way, except aesthetically of course.
max def is the maximum possible non-ethereal defense, assuming a 15% superior, and a perfect 775 defense variable roll.
EDIT: DANIEL3RD, working out Enigma defense is pretty easy. Just add the base defense of your armor with between 750 to 775, the range of defense added. 450 + 750 = 1200, 450 + 775 = 1225. Anywhere between 1200 and 1225 if your armor has 450 def base.
EDIT also typos...
thanks for the info
paladins/barbs usually use one of the elite versions of enigma for the def bonus
for others def is not so important so you may as well use lighter armors
Hoping to trade the runes for one for use by my necro summoner so enormous defence as you say isnt that imprtant. But its always welcome if I can get it.
Eilo already explained how to calculate Enigma's defense up above. :azn:
A superior sacred armor with 15%ed. Only way to go.
thanx all. Now I just need to find some armor to put me runes in
I see pancakeman is laying down some k/t-style sarcasm. Good for him.
Using a superior armor will result in much higher repair costs, unless you rely on the Cube formula, which is a bother sometimes.
I used a Breast Plate for my Summoner's Enigma because he would be able to equip it thanks to the Str bonuses from Anni and Torch, and the Str from Enigma enable him to wear everything else.
Lol actually my old MF barb had one of these. When you tele around the stamina drain is not a factor. I guess I didn't really notice the repairs, since I have a habit of selling what I don't use I have a lot of spare gold.
It looks neat tho.
If I was going to use one of the light armors I'd go with a wyrmhide.
Re: best armor for enigma?
You guys must not PvP much if you've never seen a barb using sacred...
