    Best armor for Enigma?

What, in your opinions, is the best armor for Enigma? Of course, "Whichever one has the highest def." is a given, but I don't plan on having str. anywhere near 200+. I'm probably looking at around somewhere around 150 MAX by end-game (playing a Hammerdin so I kind of have to keep up with my dex for blocking, while raising str/vit (the latter of which I haven't even touched yet @ lvl 18).

    Anyway, yeah.. just wondering. :)

In short, use whatever armor you meet (or will meet) the str req. for, with the highest def on it.

I think archon plate is a good choice if you already have the required base str (103). If you don't meet the restriction, wyrmhide is another alternative with only 84 str required.

Just put it in a dusk shroud like everyone else..?

A tweaked hammerdin might not need to put any points at all in str.. With a decent level holy shield and Herald of Zakarum, only a couple of points is needed in dex to get max block (I think).. rest in vit. Max bh + synergies, concentration, couple of points in holy shield and some in salvation (to get the +max res bonus) and there u have it.

One thing to keep in mind is type of armor. Dusk Shroud, Wyrmhide, Archon Plate, Great Hauberk are all light armor type (have no run/walk speed and stamina drain penalty) and desired more than medium (5% r/w, stamina drain penalty) or heavy (10% penalty) armors.

I dunno why people dont use great hauberk more cuz like a 15ed sup hauberk is like 600+ def rather than 500+ on archon
and if the hauberk is eth prolly hit like 700 up.

Cool, thanks for the tips everyone. I figured it would have to be the biggest armour around or something, heh.. nice to know I can just use the next (socketed) Dusk Shroud I find. :D

The best armor to put Enigma in is a (non superior) Breast Plate.

I can vouch for the wyramide and archon. but try to get a superior one, the ed helps.

I had a freakin archon plate with 590 def and lost it due to a roll back from lag.....ggrrrrr,

but I just made a wyramide one and it is fine. :).

One important thing to take note of is repair cost, I have a wyrmhide enigma and it cost approx 35000 gold to repair 20+ durability. Make it in a great hauberk/ archon and it will cost jillions to repair. Of course theres the ral cube recipe but I am sure that using gold to repair is much more convenient.

Repair costs are very high on superior armors.

I think people don't like the idea of investing up to 118 str to use it. I believe it is the heaviest of the light armor.

35K to repair is a cake walk. Even if you have 0 gold. In hell( where most are doing MF runs) Just pick up any magic armors, magic staffs, magic wands, or rare ones. Identify and sell. 35K most of the time. It all adds up. There even is a cube recipe to make repairs.

Ya, a lot of people choose enigma breast plate for the single reason that it requires almost no str to wear. Enigma itself gives so much str at higher levels that it lets you wear everything else on your character. Because of this, people put all their pts into vitality instead, having massive life, but totally item dependant.

If you feel you want more def, then non-superior archon are usually the way to go. (besides, they look way cooler than a breast plate :D)

Well, I have the eth 3 socket breast plate now, but I had to pump my str up to 100 for the time being to wear silks.. I s'pose I could keep the breast plate and this way I can totally just ignore str for the rest of the game and focus on upping my dex/vit. :D

I figure I better just stick with it, since if I actually go looking for the Archon plate, I'm simply not going to find one. At all. Trust me on that one. ;)

I prefer Archon plate with it's 60 durabiity compared to Dusk Shroud's 20 only. It looks cooler on my characters too.
