Beginner questions about Amazons

1) Lightning Amazons: I've read the guide on "The Fury" which is a neat looking build with an Amazon concentrating on all lightning attacks. This says the actual weapon doesn't really matter, since all the damage is from the magical lightning attacks.

Does the weapon completely not matter? Do you need to be using a javelin? Can you use something else?

2) Amazons in general: Do they get any special bonuses with a spear, javelin, and bow? I just want to know why those weapons in particular are most recommended for this class.

3) Using Bows and Javelins: Is running out of ammo a constant problem with this class?

for 2) , I know that for the spear/jav skill tab, all the skills there need spears/javs... for bow trees... all of them need bows

I think other than weapon speeds, Amazons dun get much diff with those items compare to other classes...

for 1), I think yes you need spear/jav class weapon to use those skills

3) I personally never run out of arrows... javs... I dunno... in worse case when I have the red sign on screen I'll just go back to town to repair

If you use Titans, don't have to worry about running out of ammo. Just stop throwing when red then wait a few seconds to reload. Otherwise just take a tp, hit the repair for hella expensive 1 gold and you are ready to go again.

1) for poison jav, plague jav, lightning bolt and lightning fury, you need javelins (class-specific or normal). For other spear&javelin skill, you require either spear or javelin. For bow skills you require a bow. That's why most of zons use javelins or bows (with spear you qill get only slower attack and no shield)

2) They use them because without them they can't use any direct damage skill. With thrusted weapons (javelins, knives) they have much more better block animation speed, so that's why lot of passive melee zons use knife instead of big sword or axe...

3) Yes, ammo is the problem. Arrows are ok, they quite frequently drop from monsters, but I usually forget to pick up some, so I need to go to town from time to town. With javelins, it's quite worse. Titan's are the javelins with the fastest replenish (much more faster than on rare or magical javelins), but the quantity drops considerably only if you use throwing skills like lightning fury. Against normal monsters (smaller groups), synergized charged strike is usually equal ot better and it's a melee skill (so quantity doesn't change -well it drops, but very slowly). Javelins can be repaired to full quantity in town.

everybody is forgetting xbows and bolts XD

XBows run out of ammo faster because bolts only stock 250 per quiver.
XBows are also a lot slower, but their damage can be huge !


But so far, one of the most devastating builds for non-zons is the Demon Machine, enchantress sorc with razortail. Piercing Explosions galore.

yea, it's sad (fun actually) how many chars are able to use a skill of a different char much more effectively while borrowing it off of a weapon that should be typical for that other char...

So with Lightning Fury, are you actually using up a javelin?

Yes. You have to throw the javelin at your enemy, and hence use up on quantity. However they fall often and are easily replenished in town.

if you keep the first stack you have, the repair quantity cost will always be 1 gold

does the repair cost go up dramatically with other / better javs?

No, it doesn't.
