Beer!

well it's been a while since i was last able to sit down and really drink a decent amount but right now I finally got a couple in me and i realize how much I missed it. I figured you should all know.

Beer kicks [bad word]!!!

I figure it there is one thing the forum always needs more of it's beer threads.

I finally sat down and had a Shipyard yesterday, and I liked it. But, on the other hand, it didn't blow me away as an amazing beer like everyone was telling me. Don't get me wrong, I definitely did enjoy it. But it didn't turn my beer-drinking world upside down like I was led to believe.

Opinions?

Finally a worthy thread. I'm partial to Snakebites as well as Black and Tans. Special note: Never, ever, ever, ever drink a Black and Blue. It takes two great beers (Guinness and PBR) and ruins them; plus it feels funny in the belly.

It comes down to this: drink what you like. As long as that isn't a Bud, Miller, or Coors product. Everything else is sweet. I usually drink Mickey's, but I do like the gear out of the Flying Fish Brewery in NJ and the Deschutes Brewery in Bend, OR.

My kingdom for another Obsidian Stout. Well, not my kingdom, but maybe a couple bucks.

haha. the fact that you can still remember the formula for alcohol means that you are not yet truly feeling the effects of it.

edit: just clicked your link masterazn after posting this. what have you been drinking lately? maybe some of the stuff you recommend?

Amen, stout beers are by far the best thing ever. The best is a good oatmeal stout from a decnt microbrew.

Tinrail: The fact that I know the chemical formula for alcohol just means that I'm a Chem/Life Science major. C2H5OH my friend. Greatest thing ever.

If memory serves, MacTarnahan's - a brewhouse in the Rose City - had the fiercest stout known to man. Turbinator. Fantastical, especially when mixed in a 1:1 with their raspberry ale.

Never a big fan of the oatmeal stouts though. I haven't had a beer for breakfast since I was an undergrad :D

Rasberry ale? Lets face it, there are some things that beer should never have been mixed with.

I drank a bunch of shinerbocks last night, and I gotta say, I dont like shinerbock as much as I used to. I also tried out Shiner blonde, which is equally mediocre (they had a special at a local liquor store, all shiner products 8.99 for 12). The Shiner Hefeweizen is great, but then I cant get enough of the wheat beers, boulevard, pyramid, hoegarden, etc...
