Beast Runeword - Berserker vs Caddy

Well my BearSorc is in the final stages of using all the gear she has - the only thing left is to decide what to put Beast into. I decided I don't want to put Beast into a low STR weapon, simply because I want to use it for bashing Fire/Lightning Immunes and to help leech back some health.

The only problem is, I'm undecided between these 2 weapons for Beast.

For those that want the relative information on them, here they are (requirements aren't an issue, I can use both):

Berserker Axe
26 Durability
24 to 71 Base Damage (47.5 average)
0 Base WSM (Normal for Sorc)
Range: 3 (<-- does Range matter to a Bear?)

Caduceus
70 Durability
37 to 43 Base Damage (40 average)
-10 Base WSM (Very Fast for Paladin, Fast for Sorc)
Range: 2
50% Damage to Undead

Both are normal, no ED or +skills. I'm presuming that a Beast Zerker probably has a higher resale value compared to the Caddy, but I don't plan to sell it anyway - what use is a BearSorc without the Beast? Lol.

Do you want more damage or faster attack?

I think caddy is a nice idea (+style points and novelty value) but the BA does do more damage after all. Have you checked that with the aura and the +IAS on your other items you will be able to reach the desired BPs for it? If the small weapon speed makes a difference go with the caddy and reap the 50%ed to undead
If not, use a beserker for more damage and more use to your own characters.

you said low STR? Is there a problem with you getting the dex to weild the caddy?

Oh definetely not, what I meant was since I had enough STR from all my other gears, I'd rather put it into a weapon that could deal some damage. My DEX is high enough (136) to wield a Phase Blade, so I have no problems with equipping either the Berserker Axe, or the Caddy.

In terms of IAS, I literally have no other off weapon IAS. My gloves are Dracs (though I may think about crafting something better) and my ammy is Maras. I can't change my helm (Dual Dream build without Dual Dreams wouldn't quite work) so I'm left with the belt, which has been taken up by Verdungo's. The problem of checking the aura is that I only have 1 set of runes and 2 weapons to choose from.

Now, my other option is to use my A1 Faith Merc with 14 Fanat for added IAS and AR. According to the Wereform central (presuming I'm entering everything correctly), with 33% IAS from Fanat:

Berserker Axe: 0 WSM, 40% WIAS = 11 frames
Caddy: -10 WSM, 40% WIAS = 10 frames

With 33% IAS from Fanat + 20% IAS from Gloves:

Berserker Axe: 0 WSM, 40% WIAS = 11 frames
Caddy: -10 WSM, 40% WIAS = 9 frames

So, if I were to change my gloves to include 20IAS, I would reduce my atk speed by 2 frames, whereas nothing would change from the Berserker Axe. Like I said, presuming I entered all the correct data into the correct fields. Also, assuming the Level 14 Fanat overrides my own Beast's Level 9 Fanat.

Is it worth the trade off? 2 FPA faster for higher damage?

P.S. Finding a Cadaceus, while I love the thing, proved to be incredibly difficult. NO ONE knew what it was, everyone was like "is that a Pally shield?" >.<

make the calculation of damage per sec.

at 11 frames you are hitting 2.2 times per sec
at 9 frames you are hiting 2.7

I had been playing a bear sorc for a very long time, and I just wanted to say that no matter berserker axe or caddy, the attack will still be too slow for the bear. having the Pb with at least 95% ias is pretty much the only wayt to go, I even tried azurewrath with shael (pb +50%) and I still think is a bit too slow to kill. really, not like you leech a lot anyway (due to the low physical dmg), might as well ignore what weapon beast should go into. If I were you, I will make it in berserker axe, that way, at least it will have better re-sale value.

edit: oh, and for those fire/light immune ones, you will have infinity, so that's not much of a problem, even if the infinity does not work (sometimes it wouldnt break the immune), your merc will get the job done, so dont worry!
