Battle.net Connections Issues on Public Wifi

So I bought my laptop to university today, thinking I can squeeze in one or two MF runs. I connect to the university network and all is going well (I'm writing this post on the network!); however when I connect to b.net, a message appears stating, "Connecting to the fastest Server" and continues to "connect" for ages. But it ends with an message telling me to look at ISP or to see if I'm connected to the internet.

All of my networking and WiFi features work, just not Diablo...

Its a public network and its a fast network (speedtest gives this network 21 Mbps!). Do I have to change IP settings? I know I can't port forward, since I have no admin privileges. So what can I do?

Thanks.

In case you're using Vista/W7 you might have to run it as Admin, other than that I'm affraid I can't help

The router or firewall of the university probably blocks connections to the D2 ports. You would need a proxy and a D2 hack on it to make it work.
