Barb damage question

Hi, Oxy here from the HC forum. Making an Eth BB Oath Telezerker.

Now I'm going to get an AToD (Artisan's Tower Shield of Deflecting), and a +9x life 4 os armor, and my question is, which would generate more damage? Max damage jewels, or 25-30% ED jewels? I'm going to need 30 IAS off jewels anyways, and I'm not sure if Max/IAS can spawn in the amounts of Max we're talkin bout. I think +30 is possible. But, what level req? Anyone wanna give me some statistical answers?

personally i think 30-40% ED jewels are the best option. those max damage jewels you are talking about (the +20-30 max damage types) are very expensive anyway, and probably more expensive than a 30-40% ED jewel (although i haven't played HC for a while so i'm not exactly sure about the values). the benefit of having ED jewels is that it increases *both* the max and minimum damage dealt by your weapon, the max damage jewels obviously will only affect the max damage. also the higher the damage of your weapon, the better the ED jewels will work. max damage jewels should only be considered if you're using a weapon with low damage (such as a phase blade).

jewels with ias can have 15max and thats at lvl 50.
I assume you are under lvl 58 as you mention 25-30 rather than 40.
Pure max of 30 can occur on a magic with no ias. lvl 50 req.
Its likely that a ed jewel will give more damage than a +max jewel.
just looked at your needs list - BBs are lvl 53 but a highland is ok for lvl 50.

Yeah, I just made my Oath in an Eth BB, damn thing only got 250/14 :[

Oh well. Yeah, I'm going with ED, it generates more damage, but only on an Eth BB.
