back in D2 after long break

Hello,

After not playing D2 for over a year, I decided to try it out again. When I last left it, I had a level 42 dual axe barb that had just beaten Baal on Normal. I'd finished all the quests, but I hadn't gotten the items for Q1 & 2 in Act V. I need a 3 socket shield (pref gothic) for Q2, and I'd like to get a war or naga axe to socket for Q1. (I know I can kill 2 birds w/ one stone, but I want to socket an axe.)

Can somebody tell me where is the best place to get these items? Should I replay Act V Normal, or go to Act I Nightmare? Should I remove all magic find items?

Your help is appreciated. Thanks.

Gothic Shields have the highest chance to drop in Nightmare Act 3.

Same for War Axes.

Same for Nagas.

Best concentration is in the Flayer Dungeon levels 1-3.

No problem. But watch out -- I just reread your post and it seems you're banking on getting the max number of sockets using the Larzuk quest. HOWEVER, finding an axe in that area does NOT guarantee 6 sockets, because the level of the monster from which the item dropped was too low. You'd need to find it somewhere in Hell to guarantee max sockets.
