Axes vs Polearms and WW barb vs ne barb

Axes vs Polearms, which is better?

Are there any barbarians that can beat a whirlwind barbarian? Beserkers, concentrate barbs, or...anything besides a whirlwind barbarian?

Dual wielding axes will generate more damage than using a single 2h weapon.

Polearms are fine for PvM, but dual wielding = more damage, more options.

And no, whirlwind is really the only competent PvP build we have.

So you're telling me that there is no way that a beserker barb could beat a whirlwind barb assuming if they were both level 99's with all their quests done and so forth. What about if the beserker cast iron maiden on the whirlwind barb, could they win in the duel then? Could you give me a sentence or two about a concentrate barb vs the beserker and the whirlwind? One at a time of course.

assumming u bezerk with a huge 2 hander, i.e botd gpa or ghost spear, the minute u use zerk ur defence is zero, giving the barb enough time to whirl literally the crap out of u + zerk is interuptable as well. And the make things worst is if the barb has max block while u zerk.

And lately i have noticed ppl always bring this IM argument up NO THIS will not work well at all cuz Iron Maiden goes through pvp penalty that nerfes its effectiveness to 1/10 and also goes through the standard 1/6 pvp dmg penalty as well, only if the barb hit a minnion it would work at full strength.

Also whats to stop the barb cast lifetap and simply negating the Iron Maiden completely and simply leeching back life on every hit.

Best chance u have is with a shield this is where conc barb will do abit better due to the fact that conc is uniteruptable so if ur hit u can still attack and wont be in fhr, secondly every swing raises ur defence making u harder to hit instead of like bezerk which temperally drops ur defence to zero howver block still works.

Sorry for the delay; I was out of town.

    General rule of thumb is:

Whirlwind will beat any other barb build, period. It has multiple hit attempts per use, attacks quickly, and is a mobile skill. Other skills lose on the basis that you have to stop to swing, and even at their fastest swing speeds can not really keep up with a moving target. Iron Maiden is bad manners, and so if you're going to cast that, there's no reason for your opponent to not use Life Tap to negate things, as Sic mentioned.

Berserk vs Conc is usually a toss-up, though it is generally in favor of the conc barb. If the berserk barb manages to get luck and get past the 2% or so chance to hit the conc barb (thanks to 75% block and 95% miss from armor), then it will only take a few swings to take him down. The conc barb, on the other hand, only has to worry about blocking, if the berserker has it, since berserk drops the defense to 0. Furthermore, conc is uninterruptible, while berserk gets caught every hit, so it's very easy for the conc barb to take the berserker apart, if he has a fast weapon.
