Avenger merc question

Hello all, I am new to diablo two and have recently started an Avenger and I was wondering what merc is the best for this build. Thanks for your help!

I was also wondering that myself, I was kind of thinking an Act3 Merc possibly lightning or cold would be good because teamed up with your conviction they could actually do some damage. I am not sure and I hope someone posts to answer both of our questions. Seems to me Act2 NM holy freezer might be good along with the defiance and might Act2 mercs.

I'd say either Holy Freeze or Defiance Merc. I'm going with Defiance because I'm gonna make HS with my avenger pally that I plan to make. So I hope to get high defense.

Haven't tried the a3 mercs...you'd be pretty unique running around with one of those

If you want style points, get an Act 3 lightning merc and watch him carpet bomb those charged bolts! But yeah, you can't beat the Act 2 mercs because of the auras that they have.

Thank you guys for your replys, i think that i will be going with a defiance merc, but i am very tempted to try out the act 3 lightning merc as well. Should i be concerened about mana when i get high levels, thats the only concern that I had about using a HF merc because that would be less bodys that i could redeem for mana and health.
