Auras in 1.13

It said on the patch release that they fixed something regarding auras in 1.13, what exactly did they change?

I've never made an auradin before and I would like to try one, would wearing 2 items that give the same aura work in 1.13? For example if I wore Dragon and Hoj, would it give me:
1. two active auras (level14 and 16)?
2. one big level30 aura?
3. or just the Hoj will be active since it is higher, rendering the dragon useless?

And how about two aura items with the same name like Dream and Dream? Can someone please clarify? Thanks.

I want an answer from someone who's 100% sure since I wouldn't want to waste currency runes getting the runewords and then find out later that only one level 16 aura will be active.

No aura patches, as far as i can remember.

The rule always was: :coffee:

SAME auras DON'T stack. The higher aura is in effect.
DIFFERENT auras DO stack (for example Might and Fanaticism).

Also if you have 2x Dreams (or Dragon + HoJ) you do get lvl 30 aura. (Or am I wrong here now? :confused:)

So is it pointless to use Hoj + Dragon or Dream + Dream in 1.13? Wouldn't that make auradins obsolete since all they'll have is a level16 aura, which isn't even strong enough to handle nm monsters?

As far as i know stacking auras do work. So 2x Dream should give you lv30 not 2x lv15 auras.
And patch 1.13 just fixed bugged aura stacking.

Dragon+ HoJ = level 30 holy fire (can also add another dragon [shield] and get a higher aura)

They do still stack, I just made an auradin and he's quite fun to play. Ignore the spoiler.
Might even put a poison dagger on him just to try it out.

Aura When Equipped is a stat like + Dexterity: in the same way as equipping two items with +14 Dexterity and +16 Dexterity gives the player or hireling +30 (14+16) Dexterity, equipping two items with Level 14 Holy Fire Aura When Equipped and Level 16 Holy Fire Aura When Equipped results in Level 30 (14+16) Holy Fire Aura When Equipped. A while ago I tested to confirm that this still applies in 1.13.

Hi, thanks for the answers.

I'm fairly new to auradins so here's another question:

How can you tell if you have one level 30 aura and not two weaker auras? And how do you know how much damage your aura is dealing if it comes from the items? Do you have to test it manually by being hostile towards another player and check actual damage output?

The bug that everyone is referring to is the auradin stack bug. What you could do is enter trade chat, put something into the chat window, and then cancel trade. What it would do is then reapply all your aura's including another lvl 30 lightning aura from gear, like you had put on a seperate set of gear. People would then stack this many times i.e. 40+, which would enable you to run around 1 shotting most things with just your aura. This is why many people hated to duel auradins because they would stack then go out and pvp with 40 lvl 30 auras. Correct me if I am missing something, but i remember stacking aura's like this once and went and killed diablo, which was extremely easy because all minions died before getting to them. I am guessing this is what they fixed, not the fact that 14+16=30.

Yes, the only sure way to know how much damage you do is to test it in some form or another.

Thats pretty close... The bug still exists, but you can't do it via trade screen. Its a fun PvP character without stacking. Dysnch charge and a nice Grief or 2H Ebotd on switch for 1-shot trys. Else you can try a FoH, or just dysnch around them until the pulses kill 'em.

The easiest way to test this against monsters or players is with radius:

A monster or player in one of the upper corners of the screen will be outside the radius at levels 14-16, but within it at level 30 and take radial damage every two seconds as a result.
