Auramancer

Just an idea that passed through, a necromancer using rune-words for auras, then a few curses to beef them up. Any ideas, suggestions, advice?

that's done before...
for a skellymancer one setup could be:
Beast on the necro (Fanaticism)
Infinity or Pride on your merc (Conviction or Conc)
Iron Golem made out of an Insight (Meditation)

With the natural aura of your merc that's a total of 4 auras.
You could additionally equip your merc with Bramble (Thorns), but after the merc dies, upon resurrection, only one "unnatural" aura will be active. However, if you enter a new game (or reenter), the merc can have more than 1 "unnatural" aura active.

I was thinking more along the lines of putting most of it on the necro, dual dreams and a Hands of Justice combined with a dragon for level 30 holy shock and 30 holy fire, merc for a few more auras and so on.

Holy shock, holy fire will not have much effect in hell. You dont have the synergy skills that a pally/sorc does so they will be wimpy. You also won't be hitting, I expect, so only the aura damage will be effective and it is real wimpy in hell.

Auras that boost your minions will help lots though.

Yes. Like HCKull said, it works with Sorceress because they have the Masteries to support it, whereas Paladin's have the synergies.

You'll end up adding like 250 fire damage and 1-1500 lightning damage to your attack... not too impressive for its cost.

Certainly, it'd be overly expensive and not terribly effective.

I'd argue that there's potential in the fun part, though. :grin:
