Auradin Questions

Hey guys,

I am currently building my Auradin. I found a nice guide that pretty much covered most of my questions and explained how the mechanic with the auras work. However, I still need some advice if you could help.

1. Skillers do not help an auradin right? They will not boost the auras from the items neither will increase their damage from the synergies? In that case what charms would be the best to use?

2. Mercenary choice? The guide was suggesting ACT 1 with Faith to reach some attack speed breakpoint since he was suggesting a melee build at the same time but I want to emphasize completely on auras. None of the guides were suggesting equipping the hireling with the same items.
I was thinking of act3 mercenary since he can carry a shield with x2 dreams, dragon and Hand of Justice Rune.
Would the auras from the hireling interfere in an any bad way with my own?

Thank you!

1. Skillers do not help, they will only boost the aura that you are running on the RMB. Resistance charms to fill gear gaps, then vita or other damage charms as you see fit, you have a lot of flexibility here.

2. Mercenary choice, they were probably suggesting an act 1 faith merc for the ias, as well as increasing physical damage output. If this is an auradin I assume you are going to be wearing dream/dream/hoj/dragon, and if I remember right HOJ only has 30ish? ias so that may be why the faith merc is necessary. Depending on how many frames difference in attack it makes it could be a substantial difference in damage output.

If you want to switch it up for an act 2 merc, you can do either Dream helm/dragon armor/doom pole, for style, or

Have the act 2 merc hold an infinity pole, with some combination of helm/armor and then run fanacticism yourself, this would result in higher physical damage and hitting the ias breakpoints, but a much lower elemental damage output.

Act 3 merc can wear dual drams/dragon/hoj but they are usually casting spells and the spells don't gain any damage benefit from the holy auras. It would only apply the elemental damage when they swing their sword, which is rare.

Holy shock/fire/freeze auras only apply/affect the wearer, so regardless of what your merc is wearing in those terms won't make a difference for your own. Also the unsynergized auras do small/pityful damage anyway.
