Arthur, King of the Britons!

*resists the urge to quote Monty Python and the Holy Grail*

Anyway, for those into Arthurian legend, there is a King Arthur movie coming out. It does seem vaguely original, as some of the usual cliches are missing. I did raise an eyebrow at the line "The true story of King Arthur."

The trailer is here:

On an aside, I think it is pretty cool and very refreshing that instead of putting in the stereotypical wizard, Merlin looks more like the "wild man of the forest."

way to hijack jerks, I never dissed Jolie even tho her face gives me nightmares, theres some good stuff a little below it, and I'll give you that

anyways, looks like an interesting movie. I'm not really sold on the historical accuracy of the film, but I think they're placing it in the 4th century, I just question the kind of masonry in the keep they use in the trailer, was that present in 4th century England? I don't know, I don't know 4th century England, but they seem to be stressing the dominion of the Roman empire in the region, so that'll be fun

You brought it up, you dirty hijacker you. I still wouldn't kick KK out of bed, though.

Anyways, I can't watch the trailer because I don't have Quicktime on this computer so I'll have to wail until I get home, but it sounds like something I'd certainly like to see.

my post, while containing transitory elements, was still pertinent in respect to the original topic and I feel it was expanding upon rather than abandoning the original posters enthusiasm.

do not dare to question me in the ways of smappange

see now I have to steer it back on topic

its being scored by Hans Zimmer, who scores everything (and as often as he can, believe me I've heard stories) including Gladiator and Pirates of the Caribbean (woohoo!)

We're Knights of the Round Table.
We dance whene'er we're able.
We do routines and chorus scenes
With footwork impeccable.
We dine well here in Camelot.
We eat ham and jam and spam a lot.

We're Knights of the Round Table.
Our shows are formidable,
But many times we're given rhymes
That are quite unsingable.
We're opera mad in Camelot.
We sing from the diaphragm a lot.

In war we're tough and able,
Quite indefatigable.
Between our quests we sequin vests and impersonate Clark Gable.
It's a busy life in Camelot.
I have to push the pram a lot.

I'm with Ash on the Keira issue.
aaah.. Methinks the best king arthur story(s) were done by T.H. White, "The Once and Future King".

Yep, saw a trailer for it in the cinema last week, looks fairly good (boosted by Miss Knightely of course).

However, it has Clive Owen as Arthur, which to me is possibly the word casting since Catherine Zeta Jones in any film you would care to mention. I.e., pretty bad. On the plus side it has Ioan Gruffudd (TV's Hornblower), who is pretty good even if he is Welsh.

So, I will cross my fingers, no doubt wait 3 months after you guys to be able to see it, and hope that it will be a good'un. I won't hold my breath though.

*kicks Adeon for being too quick on the Grrrraaaaeeeeeiiillllll reference*
