Armor for frenzy barb?

Read Ash's guide, really great, but at the armor section i started to think. Shaft? Well, it doesnt give resists, but isnt that an option?
Anyway. Duress? How would that work? It gives some resists, but also cb. Since those barbs hit fast, wouldnt that be useful?
I started to make one just today, and now i got confused. I cant really afford a CoH atm either, so thats not an option.
So Shaft vs Duress, which to pick? Resists will be quite low anyway im afraid :p

Also, what skillers are best to use on a frenzy barb? would masteries be any useful, or is it combat that does the trick? Going to use axes, if that matters.

Thnx in advance

Well in my opinion, Duress would be better! teh CB and other mods Rock!! the fact that you dont get much Damage reduction can be negated by using Draculs and having lots on life leech! once life tap goes off, you'll be fine!
ALSO: if you're going the War Cry route, them evey hard hitting monster will be stunned most of the time anyway!
as for skillers, warcries are good for you're BO and War Cry if you have it! i think any type or skiller would be helpful!

I'd go with the warcry charms and warcry build

my guy used leviathan and tals armor, so he was stuck on that same Phys vs. elemental resist issue, you need both, so it's a tough pick

Hi.

was wondering myself what to wear as a Frenzy, allthough i have a frenzy sword barb lvl 91 using following:

Levithan
Upped String
Upped Gores
upped Gaze
Souldrainer
Raven Frost
Carrion wind
Highlordswrath
And 2*Azures wrath (shael)

And all i can say is that it kills anything that comes in its way, nothing stops the azures damage, its not a very fast killer in 8 player parties, but as long as i run myself Hell is no problem.

However i do think all my damage reduce dosent work so well, and im not having that much resist either.

So i really dont know what kind of stuff you should wear.

For a poor frenzier I would have prefered Lionhart-armour before both shaft and duress.

frenzy armour in my opinion go ( this is after making 2 ladder frenzy barbs)

1. Fortitude
2. coh
3. duress
4. lion heart or shaft

dr is really not issue with dracs gloves

for skill charms i agree warcry or mastery would be the best espically if you go max dam frenzy skill syn style. cause you will have a weak shout. or ya could skimp on weap mastery and get mastery charms.

maybe ash will post and tell you his opinion.

Fortitude is the winner, but after that, Duress really wins big with its good defense, extra damage and some resists. As for other options, you should look for high defense (to avoid being hit). Gloom is nice and really boosts your resists (ctc dim vision keeps archer packs off your back), Stone is nice as well, as is Eth Carapace. Valor works well, but is a little lacking in the defense department. It mostly depends if you can afford to lose some resists in the armor or not, if so, go with high defense (as long as you max shout). I went with Leviathan as it provides a good balance between good defense (1700) and DR and I didn't have resist problems. I would have gone with Duress, but I play SPF, so we don't get that runeword.

As for charms, I never had a problem with anything other than damage (you can always use more), so I went with Sharp GCs which boosted my damage way more than mastery charms, and the AR boost really helped out my % to hit (7-8k AR w/o anything fancy helping it like enchant, angelics, etc.). However, if you have life problems, Warcry charms might be the way to go. Either way, I don't recommend Mastery charms.

i never had any problems with def, since frenzy doesn't get interrupted anyways. try to get good resistance, the fastest possible swing speed, and lots of life and you'll be fine even with zero damage reduce on.

I Never had any real problems with defense as well ,depending on which build you take btw.

I'm going for high-life this time :)

My frenzy barb even ran around with goldwrap/skullders/stealskull and was pretty hard to kill, once you're frenzy'ing it's pretty hard to stop that barb!

If you've got enough leech, do enough damage and have schaeffers/stormlash which has static field, almost nothing can go wrong m8...

i would go for valor, gives you over 100 life if your solid level, can give 15 all resist if you socket it with um, can have +2 all skills levels and it has low str requirement for barbarians(if you know what i mean :p), and not too mention it has OK defense
