Are they useless?

So I joined a Baal run on Hell Difficulty yesterday. When I ported in I started summoning some skeletons because, well I am a Summoner. I did the whole build with max Skel, Max Mastery, and Max Corpse explosion.

So as we're fighting the Paladin or "Hammerdin" I guess is all "stop summoning!" usually when I hear something like this I have a snarky response, which of course I did and he just went "No it's useless".

I don't have the best gear out there, but over all I have decent stuff which boosts my summons and curses. My question though is are they really that useless in hell difficulty? with all the mercs there was auras all around and they seemed to be doing good damage to me.

So did I screw myself over? or is this guy just one of those "I don't agree with what you're doing so it sucks" kind of pricks?

no idiots just think they cause lag, but the truth is they are sad cause their daddies dont make enough money to buy them decent computers. you can ignore them and have them hostile you, or just go along with it. its the only real curse a summoner has.

It is useless in a way because the only thing a summoner will do while a hammerdin runs a baal game is lag.
One hammerdin can clear full house baal game.
Just keep one monster ontop of you to stack for protection or something and just corpse explosion

It has nothing to do with how fast your computer is. Pub games just lag out way too easily. I've been in thousands of baal games, and I've heard every single 'lag cause' in the book.

1) If you are a nec, NO SUMMONS! NO PNOVA! NO REVIVES!
2) If you are a sorc, NO METEOR! sometimes NO BLIZZ! sometimes NO CHARGED BOLT!
3) If you are a zon, DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT SHOOTING ARROWS! javs get NO LIGHTNING FURY!
4) if you are an assassin, NO MINDBLAST!
5) If you are a druid, NO ARMAGEDDON!

the list goes on.

Speaking of hostiling hammerdins, I saw a hilarious leftover chaos game where I watched a pally join, hostile the other player there (skelemancer) and the nec just waited for the pally to tele up to him, whereupon the skellies absolutely ravaged him in seconds. I lol'd and lol'd... :smiley:
