Are skeletal mages affected by Fanaticism?

Do skeletal mages attack faster under the fanaticism aura?

Re: Are skeletal mages affected by Fanaticism?

Hmmmm. If I had a way to test that I would. I'm on single player, and I can run several of my own characters in an mp game, but I don't have a Beast or a fanat pally. Interesting question though.

If I had to guess, then I'd say no. I laugh at unique packs of casters if the unique has fanat, and I haven't noticed any difference from them.

I'd be interested to know, and if no one answers you, I'd be willing to make a fanat pally just to see. Feel free to pm me in order to remind me to test it if you don't get a response in a few days. I'm pretty busy right now with work/school, but I'll get around to it.

Similarly, I wonder if "extra fast" caster mobs cast faster. It's basically the same question.

In most cases, IAS doesn't affect casters, though I think there's something with the skeletal mages that lets them cast faster when under Fanaticism. There's probably something in the necro forum about it, but I'm too lazy to check at the moment.

Yes.

Mages cast rate (or attack frames) is 18.
With fana it goes down to 13.
There is cooldown (All pets wait 15 frames between each attack.) between those attack, that one you can't reduce, so total effect is not that much.
So mages attack 18+15 goes down to 13+15, or 33 frames to 28 frames.
Not much, but faster anyway. ~20% more damage per second

I am using fana merc with my summoner (with mages) and it works just fine.

edit: It seems that fana lvl affects speed a bit.
Lvl 9 (Beast) fana gives 14 frame speed
Lvl 11 or more (all Faith bows) give that max speed, 13 frame.

Thanks, DH.

Not that I'll ever use it, being SP.

Have you any idea if fanat enchanted caster packs get the bonus too?

Necro Pet Calculator gives those numbers for mages, no clue if it works for monsters too. No clue what lvl fana etc.. they use.

That speed increase mages is visible at field, so it should be possible to see if they boss pack is faster or not. Never looked so closely at those boss packs, as that 20% increase (if any) has only minor effect. Fana archers (with amp) packs are more fun to watch (out/ouch).

Ok awesome. Thanks for the replies everybody! I'll definitely go for a Faith merc bow then.

Monsters get a pretty low level Fanat. I guess I'll keep an eye out for it, but even if it does help them, there may be no detectable differense (barring heavy modding, which I can't do). :\

i would recommend making a beast RW in a double axe to wear yourself, and get a nm act2 merc for the might aura. give him an infinity polearm for conviction, and both your warrior and mages will do more damage.

or if you are really rich, turn the beast double axe into an iron golem and use something like arm of king leoric on you(either way, get a cta/spirit on switch), or make a pride pole arm, IG that and wear the beast, either way you want a beast somewhere on you(and imo, might/conviction are too good to lose by going with an act 1 merc.)

if you get a summoner with enigma and aura stacking, your skellies will wipe the floor with anything they come across.

I actually only plan on putting one point into summon skeletal warrior, so the might aura doesn't really do anything for me (the +skills to skellies and revives will provide tanking for the maxed out mages, which hopefully will reach at least lvl 37 mage/mastery or so), so that i have enough skill points left to max bone spirit and bone prison for synergy. Also, I'm not super rich =P
