Are nihlatak Sc's worth keeping?

So I just killed our good old barbarian-necromancer, and he was kind enough to drop a lousy Sc with crap stats. However, its still a nihlatak charm... my question is; is it worth saving? I never liked rerolling much, and as such I never got into it. Can it give me any good results, or can I simply ignore it?

You can keep it and reroll it, if you like. They can get some pretty high poison adds (with poison prefix and suffix). The common practise is to save the gems for grand charms however (Baal commonly), since they have a higher likelyhood of producing something good (read valueable). Small charms have alot of crappy prefixes and suffixes, and some of the very desirable affixes don't have a high enough alvl to justify rolling Baal SCs. GCs with high enough alvl however have a high likelyhood (1 in 13 iirc) of rolling a skiller and with Baal GCs the added bonus of a potential skiller with vita suffix. Thus the most profitable of the two would be rolling GCs. You could try selling the SC as it is - my guess is though, that noone want's to buy an unproofed Baal SC.

You should know, that some use gems to roll low/med alvl jewels (for lld/mld dueling mainly) and other roll rare diadems with skulls (any alvl allowed due to high qlvl). It's a matter of preference really. Some people roll a PC/45 life skiller with 6 gems and some spend years of rolling with all their gems and never roll a skiller with vita suffix.

You can also get some nice elemental damage from those small charms:

8 - 10 to 15 - 20 Cold-Damage over 1 Seconds
10 - 19 to 20 - 29 Fire-Damage
1 to 44 - 71 Lightning Damage <------

A 1-71 light damage small charm would be very nice (even better if you also get of Storms: 1-99). On average, it should take you 242 rolls to get it, though.

I concur with Snicker and Loke Groundrunner. Keep it if you think you might one day want to roll it, toss it otherwise.

What Baal/Nihl scs can get that other scs can't are those high elemental damage affixes. You could also end up with a 20 lifer with a nice second mod which, at least on ENL, would be worth more than many skillers. That said, in general, if you're looking for resellability when rolling charms, it's probably still safer to go with gcs.
