Are Amazon bows the most difficult to find class-specific item?

I've been playing through the game untwinked, currently in norm, act 5. I have seen claws, necro heads, pally shields, sorc orbs, pelts, and barb helms in act 1.

Yet i'm in act 5 and i have not seen a single amazon bow. What's going on? Just absurdly bad luck? (I'm a strafer)

hmmm I think ATMA-drop-calc has the answer of that, do you have it on your own, or do you want me to look up where the easiest areas are?

Well, there are only two class-specific bows while there are more necro-heads, pala-shields, orbs etc. Stag Bow is also from TC18, so you will not see one in act 1...

Probably just bad luck, try to play necro and you will have very few necro-heads and a lot of amazon bows

I have it, but I'm not really good at using it. I'll tinker with it.

By the way, my whole point isn't that I haven't found one in act 1. I haven't even seen one at all, acts 1 through 5, and i'm about to do the ancients.

Which is really sad, considering you can see assassin claws in the den of evil!

hehe I had the same problem when I first played druid. I found no pelts at all until I reached late NM. When I started my sorceress I found 100-ds of them <>

I have to somewhat agree that it SEEMS like there are fewer class bows that drop than other class gear. But you never know until you play through several games and write down everything that drops and then track it all using some kind of mathmatical analysis. Not worth it to me.

You'll just have to keep looking. Sooner or later you'll find one. Not that most Amazon only bows are that great, unless you're looking for a GMB with some holes in it. Other Amazon only bows are pretty average IMO.

TC78 contains both Feral Claws and Grand Matron among 6 other items. Theres one scepter here.
TC54 contains both Scissors Quhab and Matriarch Bow among 7 other items.
TC48 contains the Ceremonial Bow but it is among 11 other items, 2 of these items are at 1/3 the normal drop.
TC39 contains the Ashwood Bow among 13 other items, 3 of these have 1/3 the even-weight drop.
TC27 contains the Reflex Bow, this time only 8 other items, 2 of these at 1/3 weight.
TC18 contains Stag Bows among 12 other items. 4 of them 1/3 weighted items and Claws at 2/3.

Compare this with TCArmour15 which contains only 5 items, Scale Mail, Chain Mail, Full Helm, Horns, Kite Shield. If a monster decides to drop this TC, you got a 20% drop chance for any of these items. Hence you see these everywhere.

So yes, the odds of seeing Amazon Bows is relatively low with all these factors. Most are in TCs that are very crowded so when a monster chooses to pick that TC to drop from its not likely to pick the bow. The GM and M bows are of particular disappointment. Sucks trying to make good runeword bows from them since they rarely drop and if they do drop, their max sockets is 5 and almost all the good runewords for bows are 4 sockets. :(

And I will try to guess what quest item will you get from Anya. You are untwinked bowazon? Well, it's an easy one, you will get class-specific javelins .

I still have some of my Anya spears. Someday they'll fix the fend bug and it will once again, stand out as the skill it should be.
