    Archetypal Eastern Doctor

In all the cheesey martial arts movies doctor=kick-*** martial arts powers. Think of Jackie Chan's character's father in Drunken Master, or both of the male leads in Iron Monkey. I'm interested in seeing some more examples of this archetype so if you can think of any movies, stories, etc that would be useful post them here.

Mr. Miagge(sp?) from Karate Kid is a super-ninja doctor. Though that is probably last in line for good martial arts movies.

Wong Fei-Hung movies are probably the origin of this archetype, as there are probably dozens of films about him. Many of them date back to before the sixties, however Jet Li played him recently in the "Once Upon a Time in China" series (the first three of which are worth watching).

Yes, only watch "Once Upon a Time in China" if you understand cantonese. Otherwise, it would just suck.
