Apple Cider cocktails

Hello again!

Wonder if anyone knows a simple recipe for yummy cocktails with apple cider in them... Having a new year's party tomorrow and I'd like to serve an apple cider cocktail as an appetizer drink.

I searched around on the net for a bit, but the keyword I'm looking for is "simple". I don't need 4 or 5 ingredients for an appetizer drink, I just like to know what goes well mixed with apple cider?

Spiced rum goes well, but you will really kick it up with some cinammon and heating it up on the stove.

Personally, I'd just serve the cider. Add fizzy water for a fun aperitif.

For light drinks there is the, 'snakebite': lager and cider in equal proportions. It's enjoyable.

1/2 pint Cider, 1/2 pint lager, one shot of black current concentrate.

I am assuming you guys like a lighter lager like a pilsner or even American lager for your snakebite, and not something like a doppelbock (though a doppelbock and cider may actually be pretty damn good).

At a college bar we used to go to, the default snakebite was I believe Harp and Strongbow. Needless to say, improving the parts increases the quality of the whole, so using something like a nice German Helles or Czech pils and a homemade cider would be a lot better than the overwhelmingly mediocre Harp and Strongbow mixture.

Of course, if it were me, I would probably just drink a pint of a nice lager or a pint of a nice cider, and not worry about mixing them.
