    Anyone remember the elephant show?

One of my professor put an extra credit question on the midterm, "write out a few lines of the song from the elephant song". I could not contain my laughter because this was the show I taught me everything!

    "skimarinky dinky dink
    skimarinky doo
    i love you
i love you in the morning
    and in the afternoon
i love you in the evening
    and undereath the moon
    oh skimarinky dinky dink
    skimarinky doo
    i love you"

At the end of the exam, some people were even humming the song.

I guess that show was kinda big if you live in Canada. I remember watching Jonovision on CBC, and Sharon, Lois, and Bram made a surprise appearance. The live audience were mainly 16-18 yr olds. When the trio started playing that song, EVERYONE joined in and did the hand puppets!

Alright...while we're on the subject of childhood shows...the elephant show was shite. Alright? Complete crap. it held no interest to me...and furthermore...that spider that came on after the show freaked me out. Why not talk about some of the shows that really matter...the ones that really meant something.

    1. He-Man
He man kicks everything else's ***. He man taught me the difference between right(hunky swedes with blue eyes) and wrong(skeletor...a giant skeleton). I was he man for halloween when i was 8. Ghosts bite the big one. He man could beat them up anyday.

    2. Mr. Wizard
This guy knows what the hell he's talking about. He's like an altruistic evil genius. I would take Mr. Wizard over stephan hawking(sp?) any day. screw stephen and his black holes.

    3. Inspector gadget.
Jesuuuuuuus Chris. The elephant show? how can you talk about the elephant show when inspector gadget was on? Penny was hot and used a computer in 1976...that's admirable, haha. not to mention her comoputer could solve global warming. Inspector gadget was like your wierd Uncle Schneitzen...but with attitude. You know he could get the ladies...he just had more important things to do. He's like one giant sex toy...c'mon. You think Inspector Gadget has problems in the sack? forget viagra...forget rocket scientists takling about extending your manhood...give me Inspector Gadget...Go Go Gadget Wang.

    4. The Wonder Years.
This is possibly the best show ever made. Excuse Fred Savage for all of his crap...he's infallible in my mind. This kid was me. Paul...the dorky sidekick was my bro John Lee. Winny cooper was the slut...bong. And furthermore...the cover of the beatles song at the intro of The Wonder Years is insanely better than that BS song on the elephant show.

    I'm out.
    Chris

It reminds me of a time when i was in school, i can remember having to write down the preamble to the Constitution for a Constitutional History class. You could hear everyone bust out humming the School House Rock song.

I used to watch the Elephant show. I even saw when they did a live performance thing once at the Civic Center here.
