Not sure what "smells like troll bait" is, But I'm not a troll... Just expressing my opinion.

Pretty much every pubby duel game has people with hacks, Sometimes hard to know if they hack before we duel..

As I said i dont care what happens, It rarely affects me.

There are more then 0 pubby games up, I havent seen No pubby games up in hell or normal.

all blizzard should do is place a delay on the actual hostile effect. make it so when you push the hostile trigger, it takes 3 seconds to effectively set hostility. it would mean exiting town would be slightly riskier some days, but at least it would kill TPPK. permanently.

The fact is this: TPPK is killing the game, maybe blizz is just waiting for the general population to suicide on eachother and close down the servers, but with TPPK in existence (and so rampantly) the hardcore side of the game (the only side I've ever found fun after the first run through norm-hell) is on it's way down.

Old people = private games, solo or quit.
New people = get killed from level 9 through 45 in normal, then have no one to play with in nightmare, then are killed in hell from the half dozen PKs popping up "legit" looking games. ...then they quit.

The population will only decline with TPPK here, and with no likely expansion we're losing numbers that we'll likely never get back.

If you've never been a part of real PKing then you need to realize it's sooooooo much funner than TPPKing/flash hacking/dropping people. The rush from running after people with a charger, the rush when someone stands to fight you, the possibility that all 7 people are camped at the throne room stairs waiting for you... Yeah you can dirty TP, but I rather have every script kiddie TPPKer turn into a dirty TPer then have no chance at all (except building soley TPPK-survival builds).

tbh tppk doesnt bother me, anything that reduces the competition on the ladder is good and yes i play in pubs. ive had numerous attempts on my characs from tppk and only the first one worked, once you know how its done you can avoid it, when someone spams an atatck and then you see a tp save + exit. tppk isnt that bad, in .09 it was easy to ignore the hostile timer for using wps (hosted to dead within 2 seconds if your near a wp), the cow portal was the most dangerous spot in the game, tppk could be done with ANY ranged attack no hax needed and as for the few hacks we see now i prefer them to the unbelivable godly kit we used to have to fight against (con rings, wiz rings, occy rings, bugged nos, bug tals, butchers helmets, **% dam red tals armor, ith weaponry....................etc) and the fact that 90% of people then had maphack and chicken hack compared to a lower figure now (i would guess no more than 50% of the people on realm now use hacks). experienced players can avoid being pked most of the time and that chance of dying adds excitement to the game for me, id hate to see d2 turn out like everquest, no pvp unless both people agree to duel, risk factor zero is just too dull for me, im sure other people feel differently but hey if its a pub game and you suspect someones gonna tppk you why not move nearer another player, hopefully they can eat those nasty missiles for you, passive pk ftw.

"TPPKing is killing the game" Isn't a fact, More of an opinion.

I'm not an old player, I never had problems playing pub and with tppk. (I think i have been Tppk'd once or twice. Once i knew was a PKer but wanted to see if he could hunt me =] Was only lvl 9, Next was a Chanted zon i suspected and didnt care.) It takes like 10 minutes tops to get to lvl 10 in a pubby game.

I started a few months ago i think, Managed to solo a zon to 89. Mostly priv played pub sometimes.

I agree john =]

It not just the death that's frustrating, it's the lack of public opportunities. It's more fun to quest with random folks than to wait around for a buddy of appropriate level to log on or soloing it all. Imagine if public play was less retarded and we all could enjoy making new friends over a nice river of flame or arcane sanctuary.

I will just say that as an old time player just starting to come back, it is impossible to make new friends with tppk out there. You have somewhat of a chance in normal because people still make regular games there, but after that if you don't know someone, you are playing solo games.

Most everyone in HC is running scared because of tppk. It affects everyone who plays hc and I hope this gets fixed with a server side fix this week.

Find a good group of legit gamers and play only priv games.

Trying to PK those who use PK hacks is pointless, they have anti-PK hacks. Give them a hot TP at Lister. Even newbies who use PK hacks can still die at level 98 to Lister, and the rest of their clan can die to my hot TPs. I do a better job killing them legit than they do with hacks.

the public aspect of the game has totally been destroyed from what i remember hc being 4-5 years ago. Just add a slight delay and people can still run u down and pk you all they want. I love to hunt people down and watch em run. I would imagine that tppk would be extremely boring.
