Hey,

I play single player because i don't really care for trading and i like being able to use gomule.

But it's kinda dissapointing to know that it's impossible to find high end runes like ber and jah, it's simply too low drop rates. Eventually i want to get enigma and such but the only option in single player is with hero editor, and that's just lame :/

Is there a mod to increase drop rates for high end runes?

Yes there is. It's called the 1.13 patch. It made HR's attainable even for the common folk.

And some friendly advice: In the stickies you can find which mods are accepted here. If it's not in there it's not allowed to be discussed here.

Go read up on Lower Kurast chest runs. I don't think you can get Jah there, but everything lower than that can drop, including Ber. With some patience and a little cubing you can make an Enigma doing that.

Killing the council in Trav is another option.

Interesting, ill try it out. Have been doing trav and highest i found so far is Ko.

Also /players affects runes right? Indirectly since more items are dropping?

Lower Kurast will drop up to Ber, Council will drop up to Cham. 95% of my high runes have come from Lower Kurast. Roll a decent map and you should be fine. If you have another monitor or a TV near your computer then throw on a movie or something so it doesn't feel so monotonous, or listen to music. Within a week you'll have a few runes.

It all depends on what way you play the game and how often you play it. If you do questing and full cleaning of areas, you will eventually find high rune, but it will be really slow compared to when you focus on farming runes.

2 best areas for farming runes are already mentioned: Travincal and LK. Travincal is generally considerably slower unless you have properly built character and doing runs quite fastish. Otherwise LK is the king for farming runes. 992 runs at average to find Sur at p7/8 which is just mad. That means you can basically farm 2 Sur runes per week with playing ~2 hours a day. + you will surely get other runes as well.

To farm Enigma in LK, it will take you at average 3855 runs. If you roll a good map and use 200 fcr sorc for fast opening chests + collecting whatever you want, you can reach 25 seconds per run (many players do sub 20 sec runs), and with that speed you will farm Enigma at average in 26 hours. Along with Enigma you will farm runes for Hoto, Grief etc. With that kind of speed you can play diablo 1 hour a day and you will farm those major runewords in a month. Quite fast. And good charms, jewels etc.

If you are lucky, you can farm runes much faster. I got 8 Vex+ runes in 24 hour period farming p3 Travincal, which is just mad luck, but possible. Also had 2 times when I got 5+ Vex+ runes in 24 hour period, again for Travincal. Those things happen if you play the game enough. I'm kind of dedicated diablo player and when I played the game, I used to get Vex+ rune pretty much every day, and more of them every day. Runes became daily stuff for dedicated players who focus on areas where runes drop.

My run with my 200mf sorc will be this after reading the replies;

Countess
Andariel
LK
Trav
Mephisto
Chaos sanctuary
Shenk/eldritch
Pindleskin
Baal but i mostly skip him, takes long time for me to do

It's obviously an all around run because it's more fun to do imo.

I have one question about Lower Kurast tho, i read some posts and appearently you can get maps with 2 campfires, and there should be 3 super chests near each camp fire. But i only find 2 super chests and not 3, why?

You're looking in the hut to the left of the campfire. Above that is an armor rack, and to the right is the other hut with a weapon rack + a super chest.

You can think of it as a Y shape with the base being the campfire and the two prongs being a hut with superchest(s)

Here is an illustrated picture with the Y shape pharphis described. Remember that you can use telekinesis to both take WP & open up chests/racks to improve your speed. (think they should have removed tks ability to take up items from battle.net only) This is also the kind of two camp thingie you should aim for (the map here is decent. Also note that there is always a rack above the hut with 2 chests with about 1/1000 chance to be an unique item IIRC. The same item will also generally spawn, so for example, if white shakos drop, then magic/rare/unique shakos/ will drop from the same rack (I believe monste packs can change what is dropped, or at least it feels like it) Personally i Use a harmony bow switch with 10 vigor to run to the wp& when i can see the wp i switch to 200 & take lower kurast wp.

You can take up mundane items like keys and Gold with it telekinesis, if too much is covering up the good drops for you.
