Re: Any French or Germans in the forum?

No boiling is what I was told. I'm going up to Austin for the new year; maybe I'll take some of it with me.
Yep, I was drinking the cognac out of the glasses (for the absinthe) she gave me. They're not brandy snifters, but they're fairly large - more like a really thick wine glass though. It's all gone now. We had about 10 people over to our house for dinner on the 25th, and one of her friends mulled some wine. I donated some Courvoisier to the first batch. Good stuff.
I like the absinthe. I think that the other ingredients only have an effect if you drink large quantities, but you'd be really drunk anyway, so you might not really notice. I like the flavor, but it is pretty expensive. I'm sure I'll get some more eventually, but not anytime soon.
I usually drink beer, but only because it's cheap (american beer) and effective. If I've got some money to spare, it's usually Jack Daniel's Green Label. I also like Gin and Tonic, but good gin is pretty pricey too.

Thanks for the absinthe idea, though it's almost gone now. I don't have caramel, but I do have maple syrup. She also gave me two glasses, two slotted spoons and a sugar bowl, so I intend to buy some more eventually. I'll try the caramel/maple next time I get some.
I'll have to try it with redbull, too.
Snorting alcohol: I get nose bleeds in dry weather, so I think that would be bad idea for me. Yeah, I'm just not going to do that.
EDIT:
Last glass o' absinthe.:weep:
I may buy some for spring break. I'm starting a new second job in mid January, so I'll have the money for it. I'm going to start teaching at a community college.
