Anime of the Day

Cowboy Bebop

Over 26 episodes and one movie this series follows the adventures of space bounty hunters Spike Spiegel, Jet Black, Faye Valentine, Radical Edward and their dog Ein as they attempt to deal with their past and future while struggling to make ends meet.

Though the series is exceptional overall, the music stood out as particularly amazing to me. In my opinion this series has some of the best music ever written for a tv show.

Tarnok,

You make me laugh.

We've had Fractal, Formula and Who-can-remember-what-else of the day from you, but you only ever post 1.

That's it.

No series of fractals day by day for a week or more
ditto formula

I expect that this will be the only anime you mention this month.

If you are so bored at school then why not at least do a top ten and put up links and make comments on your choices?

TY

I like Akira - mainly because it was the first one I watched all the way through back when Channel 4 had an anime series late at night.

There was another I really liked too. It was about a samurai/ninja (he had one of those triangular hats ^) - it had a big fight on a boat towards the end of the film. There was an old man and a young girl too. It was set a few hundred years ago - not a sci-fi one.
If anyone knows what that was called, please post it so I can go buy

I also have heard good reports about Love Hina, but I have never seen them.

Most TV shows are crap whether it's American or Japanese, animated or live. Cowboy Bebop isn't all that special, except for one thing: the music is really good. I would never have dreamed that jazz/blues/etc. would go so well with science fiction.

Dark Matter, you're thinking of Ninja Scroll, which rules. I'm yet to watch any Cowboy Bebop, but I might start soon.

Cowboy Bebop ruined me for music, they never seem to recycle their tracks and everything they use is both well made and fairly original. Whenever i see any other anime i always think their music kinda sucks in comparison.

The movie sound track is great, i only have a few songs (obtained via kazaa) but if i ever see a copy of it for sale i'll definately buy it.

One of the things that bothers me so much about Japanese Anime is the fact that you can't really find them much in the market. Also, these anime series run in 90 or more episodes. Each tape or DVD contains about 4 episodes. That's about 25 or more tapes or DVD's. WAY WAAAAY too expensive to afford.

It used to be so awesome when many Korean internet forum sites offered so many Animes through downloads. These sites are no longer existent, and even if they do, they are very very secretive about their existence. When I was back in college, I downloaded some 90+ episodes of Kenshin. The dialogs were in Japanese, but it had Korean subtitles. Since I'm Korean, I had no problem with that. Those were the good ol' days.

Personally I liked Gundam Wing. A bit whiney, but the gundams were cool. I wish they would make a Mechwarrior anime type of deal, that would be nice. Dragonball Z was cool if you get past the point of the whole...

"Oh no, another enemy which is stronger than the last, even tho we agreed that the last one was the strongest in the universe, but clearly we are wrong again for the 50th time because we're Saiyans and aren't very bright to begin with, and with that said let me turn on my full potential to eliminate the enemies only after they kick my *** for a while and nearly destroy my planet, here we go!"

...plot. I liked Inuyasha a bit too, mostly because Miroku reminds me a lot of myself, and the fact that I act like Inuyasha when I get mad. It's a funny show, for the most part.
