    An infinity merc

Will the infinity runeword remove the cold immunity of monsters for a blizzard sorc? Does it require a certain level of cold mastery?

    Thanks

Nope, it only applies to Merc's cold damage (i.e. Holy Freeze merc).

The Conviction will remove most of the immunes, but as for its lower cold resistance on the weapon, it will only apply to the merc itself. I'm not exactly sure which one you are asking, but I answered the two possible questions.

I guess it is not totally clear based on the responses. Will an infinity merc make cold immune monsters lose their cold immunity so blizzard can be more effective? The conviction aura should lower their resists, but will it lower it enough to break the immunity? If it doesn't then cold mastery won't help the blizzard attack.

There are 18 monster types whose cold immunity is broken by Infinity. If any naturally cold immune monster gets Magic Resistant or Cold Enchanted, it stays cold immune. I think I posted a list of those monsters some time ago.

Thank you. I looked up your previous post. I've had trouble trying to figure out if this question has been asked before.
