Dave Williams was the lead singer of the band Drowning Pool. He died while on tour with Ozzfest 2002 of cardiomyopathy at age 30. He was one of the greatest people you ever could have met. Ozzfest 2001... the band went from 3rd Stage to a slot on the Main Stage very quickly, in 2002 they were right on the Main Stage, their CD went Platinum, and Dave never changed. Not one bit. After a show he'd never go hide out until the next days show, he was always out walking around in the crowd, talking to as many people as he could, for as long as he could, always giving people things, never turned anyone away. He was one of those people who you met, and they instantly felt like your best friend, like you've know him your whole life.
I remember the last time I saw him, the band was signing CDs at the FYE booth. It was hot out, scorching sun that day, and my girlfriend was complaining that she didn't want to stand out there and get more sunburned. I didn't think anything of it really, I just said to myself that I'd catch him next time. (they came around fairly often)
