An even sadder story..

So I have this lvl 44 character (same as the char in my "A sad, sad story" thread... when I made him, I saw the ladder check box and was like "Huh? What is that?" So I searched the net (and this website), and couldn't find anything. So I went back in, unchecked it thinking it was some kind of competition (hence the name "ladder") that I didn't care to be a part of.

So I finally find out what the hell ladder is, and I don't want to continue building up my non-ladder character anymore. But also, I don't want to start over. That's so lame, I feel like just not playing anymore. I had such good equipment on him too

that's not a sad story. you start a new character. it doesn't take long at all to get back up to lvl 44. and i don't know what equipment you have, but it can probably be easily replaced.

if you set your mind to it, you can get to level 70 in one day... even 80...

Go ahead and make a few chars NL (non-ladder).

The way people act and play on ladder is pretty much the same as off. The only difference is the ladder only items and recipes. There is still duping and hacking on the ladder.

just make one mf char on the ladder and grab up as much stuff as you can and wait for ladder reset, then when your ladder char is dumped into normal realm you can sell stuff and make a good dueling char.

well that's just one way to look at it. I haven't played off ladder in months, but the only reason I would be sad is if I couldn't find any good games NL.

but really, i didn't mean it as a sad sad. i know what sad freaking is. can i not have exaggerated emotion?

i was hoping someone had a solution, maybe a way to trade from NL -> L. didn't think there was a way though.

[edit: thanks, prion. but i thought about it, the ladder chars are going to be stuck in NL anyways, so I don't see the point to starting a ladder game. I guess maybe for the items, but nyeh.. is it worth it?]

Is it worth it, I really don't know. I don't have any ladder only stuff but then I maybe play a grand total of 4 hrs a week

if u find someone willing, they will trade their ladder items for your NL items.
You must trust them, there is no way to fit this in trade screen or anything.
I think it is too risky, I would not do it.
