An Act 1 Merc With Brand?

Hi,
I tried an Act 1 Merc with Windforce, pretty Powerful, she can stay alive for a long time as well.

Just wondering is Brand a good combination with my 13 Fan Faith?
Becasue I really love using Faith myself, just i dont know why i can't kill bosses fast enough. Especially Diablo, I can Solo Choas, but when it comes to Diablo, i struggle abit, any ideas?

Fires Explosive Arrows or Bolts (15)

I'm not sure if the bone spears will actually work on a merc. I seem to remember something about some bow mods not working correctly on mercs...

AFAIK, the [Fires Explosive Arrows or Bolts] and [Fires Magic Arrows or Bolt] does not work with the Rogue, even though the animation is shown.

The Bone Spear would work fine.

Easiest way to own bosses: slow them. I wouldn't trust the CtC Amp or the280-330% Damage To Demons too much.

This:

Would easily own Diablo and Baal. They basically get slowed to the point where you can just keep firing and not worry about running around.

Could you explain how you fight D? Do you stand back, do you stand in the middle waiting for the spawn and then "tank" D?

If you can slow him enough (same goes for Baal), his spell animations will show but they will do no damage, or at least that's been the case with my experience.

In solo games, I usually just summon a Valk, and mass slow Baal/Diablo, and just stand in one spot and shoot.

i find d is only hard cause his fire attacks, i think most high dmg bowazons have bad res (like me)
i am at top ias with a gmb and a catseye ammy etc
had trouble with phys immune monsters till i found a lacerator (33% ctc amp on attack) i use it on switch instead of witchwild string which is 2% amp, and i love it. I had so much trouble b4 figuring how to find PI while being at top ias and i found the solution! D esp with amp on is much easier to kill, however 1 fire river will kill my a2 might merc as well as me unless i run, but overall i can tank him nicely

I think the explanation goes like this:

Baal/Diablo cast at a certain amount of frames.

If you slow them, their cast becomes even slower.

At some point, it becomes so slow that your attack will interrupt them before they can complete their cast.

As a result, the animation shows, but no damage is dealt as the spell was interupted before they could cast, so they get "locked up".

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. :p

Slow helps a lot, at least against Baal. Diablo's attack seems to hurt a bit(I got only 35% slow) after slowing.


I have combined slow and block to kill those end bosses. With 500-550 dex its max block anyway. And you can block those diablo attacks, so it helps a lot for low life Amas.

With max penetrate, Amas have huge ar even basic attack (I have around 16k) so change to hit end bosses is above 80%.
Javelins don't have crushing blow=needed for fast (full game) boss kills. As daggers are 2nd best weapon for amas -> fleshripper is only with crush.
Fleshripper is very good choice=slow,crushing blow,fast(7fpa) and give nice chance to hit. And takes only 1x3 slots in stash anyway.

With shield+fleshripper(shael) combo I have killed hell Baal over 50 times and Diablo much much more. Full game diablo and solo Baal have about same life, and both goes down nicely (takes around 30-40s) . Full game baal goes down too but it takes TIME.

While soloing, diablo goes down around 10-15seconds, keeping both char and merc save, so going back and using bow is not option for me anymore.
And added bonus for dagger, as you use basic attack=no need to use mana, baals mana curse dont hurt at all. No need to use pots=ama is ready right away for next run.

I have -5 fire resist and around 30 light resist and can take full game diablo down just fine. No need to use pots, or sometimes one or two. I have only 15 hard points to vitality, so quite low life and bad resist, but both bosses goes down nicely.

Everything in Chaos Sanctuary is Demon or Undead. Diablo is Demon. The reason why Laying of Hands is popular on Chaos Runners is because its 350 to Demon.

Have you actually used Wrath in Chaos Sanctuary? If you couldn't trust DtD, Wrath (which you recommended) would do almost no damage to most of its inhabitants and would take forever to clear Chaos. It has ZERO raw ED.

I did read it correctly. I do know. Your just asking for it when you say don't rely on the DtD to someone who doesn't know and your post doesn't specify anywhere which is why he asked for that clarification whether for his merc or his Amazon. DtD is not important for your merc. This is correct. Infact don't rely on your merc to do much damage compared to your Amazon in general. DtD is however a very potent mod for your Amazon. Especially in Chaos Sanctuary.

The mod you refer to is on Brand. Using Brand as an example does not show how effective DtD is. Wrath is. Wrath is a good example to show him how effective DtD is.

I'm not sure why you think I need to calm down. I'm just having fun at your expense. No need to get your feathers ruffled LOL. I'm only providing clarification on DtD. My bad if you took offense to it. I thought I set the mood from the start by exclaiming ROFLOMGWTFBBQPWNEDURSELF. I thought it might be funny to enclose your name in a longer acronym. Well...
