Am I the only one planning on playing SP first before Bnet?

Blizz will make it so you will WANT to be online.
I can understand this from a business perspective. However, Blizzard also assumed a clear compromise to provide SPers with a good and long term experience by both including SP mode in the game and by their own admission (see quote below).

Despite not wanting to play battle.net I can fully understand their desire to provide players with incentives to battle.net. I'm actually a lot more understanding of that now than I was even a couple of months ago. But I'm talking incentives, and not providing gamers with two false choices of which they can only choose one to have any hope of having fun with the game. Which is how I read that statement of yours.

[BLUE="http://play.tm/interview/22378/jay-wilson-talks-diablo-3/"]We would say, and we say in our goals, that it's a co-operative focussed game. But that's not at the expense of the singleplayer game.[/BLUE]

MP is too damn rushed, players compete for items, skip most elements in gameplay and just race to farm & lvl highest.

I like to experience the whole game like reading a good book. I love the lore, the theatrics and discovering things at my own pace.

In D1 & D2, I purposely played alone so I can read every townfolk's dialogue, check out all side quests, discover unexplored areas, be lazy in town, shop around, etc... I like to get myself immersed.

When I get D3, I know I'll play it first on SP. Watch the cinematics, interact with NPCs, take my time to check outcharacter skills & ladders, etc.

I'll probably beat the game 3-4 times with different classes. Then I'll hop on Bnet for MP fun. How about you?
Seeing as how the MP is going to be exact same as the SP, I'm not worried too much about it. I personally will be playing BNET as soon as humanly possible. I'm going to have my friends playing with me, and if they aren't around I'll play alone. But the game is a co-op based game so I'll likely be playing with other randoms.

Single player I'm sure will be fun, but I would only play it if it offered something more than what MP could offer, like more in-depth lore coverage. Other than that, MP will suffice.

unlike some kind of strange event made bnet 2.0 a million times better then the current crap i will play diablo 3 single player and that is it. I had enough of playing games online even before i stopped playing diablo 1.

bots, duping, horrendus lag, random games getting shutdown, ladder reset etc heck the only way to get a worse experience whould be to play on open bnet (shudders)

I'm among those that'll start out playing solo in passworded B.net games -- the reason for this is it'll be nice to find a group to take down an act boss / etc. if I really get stuck, and eventually (i.e., once the game has been beaten on the 1st difficulty) I'll want to take my character into group play and don't want to start over on Bnet after doing so playing SP.

Also, of course, I'm hoping to be playing with my two good friends who are Diablo fanatics as well.

I'll play online, either with friends or by myself. Not letting pubbers ruin my first run through the game. I see no reason to play offline singleplayer though, why put a perfectly good character to waste?
