Am I the only one planning on playing SP first before Bnet?

MP is too damn rushed, players compete for items, skip most elements in gameplay and just race to farm & lvl highest.

I like to experience the whole game like reading a good book. I love the lore, the theatrics and discovering things at my own pace.

In D1 & D2, I purposely played alone so I can read every townfolk's dialogue, check out all side quests, discover unexplored areas, be lazy in town, shop around, etc... I like to get myself immersed.

When I get D3, I know I'll play it first on SP. Watch the cinematics, interact with NPCs, take my time to check outcharacter skills & ladders, etc.

I'll probably beat the game 3-4 times with different classes. Then I'll hop on Bnet for MP fun. How about you? :thumbup:

It is definately better to experience the game at depth that way the first time/times

That's how I will do it as well. I enjoy exploring the game on my own and testing out different things before I start playing battle.net.

I think that people that play SP don't visit forums as much as those playing a lot of MP which means forums like this isn't entirely a good sample of the whole diablo community. I might be wrong about that though.

I will jump right on bnet the day it comes out, i will play the game with one charecter by myself and me and 3 of my freinds are going to make a second charecter to play with eachother. I can accomplish the ability to complete the game on my own, with out wasting the time offline. That way i have something to work with after i play through the story.

I'm not really that into playing online for the reasons just listed. I like going my own pace and exploring on my own or with my friends. Too bad there's no LAN. ):

I'm with Ishtor. It's the same way I tried to do Diablo II but the servers were not in the best of shape when it was released.
I'll just play in solo passworded games and take my time doing whatever it is I want to do, but I have a guild of players that I've been running with since the days of Diablo 1 that I will probably play with after my first play-through.
Every bit of the game has to be experienced solo first, though, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm in for total immersion.

As long as your ping is ok, you can do everything you said by playing solo MP games (oxymoron in one sense, not in the other), which I'll probably do.

I'll definitely be playing single player and trying to de-compile the character data in attempt to help with the building of the requisite SP stash program.

Why not just choose to solo MP, because you can do trades with other players but choose not play with them. It's easier to get items that you want this way.

For me is certainly going to MP, because I just can't stand playing alone, it's so boring.

SP all the way here too. I won't ever be playing the game online.
But without LAN support, I'll be probably delaying buying the game for a while if by that time I'm hooked on some other LAN-offering game with my usual LAN buddies. We tend to buy together.

I'll definitely try my hand at both the single player and multiplayer mode - however I usually play the single player mode first.

As the OP said, multiplayer is rushed and all content that CAN be avoided WILL be avoided. I have no problem with this, because the competitive side is what keeps multiplayer interesting, but I also like to experience the game as the developers intended.
