Was perming a mule last night in public game Permin I created. I was afk. When I come back I found this:

There was one character that was afk "thesetter". Not sure if that was who did it. Called some friends in to see and one starts picking up the gold :rant:

Anyway I thought it was a pretty nice way for someone to perm their mule

Well, some people sure have got a lot of time on their hands. Mind you, i remember doing the same thing last season except we covered the whole town in 1 gold piles...quiet fun and rewarding actually.

Nice, I saw someone doing that in a dueling game. I asked them why, and they said they were making the Yellow Brick Road.

Once you get into it you don't want to stop
One of my favourite memories was when me and some friends were dueling (night before reset) and one of us died so we made a skull out of gold on top of the persons body which took up about half the screen. I did take a picture of it and I'll try and find it and post it up.
I was thinking that if all the pieces of gold flashed at exactally the same time then it might cause a person to have a seizure. Wouldn't that look good for blizzard? :lol:

We did that with Minor Healing Potions. I'll go upload the screenies.

Hmm, looks like I deleted the good one. We filled town so full that when we went onto the bridge it was just a platform. The sides didn't draw...

All I have left is this one. If you look, you'll notice a very large sparkle to that "one" potion. Turns out it was like 500 stacked potions.

Please excuse my stupidity, but how did u manage to get 500 stacked on the same spot?

There use to be a hack that would do this. PKs would use it to lag out people with slow video cards. It was big back in the days of Bloody Foothills runs. People would come through the FH WP into a sea of gold, and they'd freeze while their computer tried to sort out the graphics overload. Then the brave PK would slaughter them while they just stood there.

You can still do the same thing now if u just keep spamming traps then the remains will lag like crazy.

Well, you drop lots of potions while in the same spot. Eventually you run out of places where the potions can drop based on your position(they form squares). So after the area you would normally fill is filled, it beings stacking them. Of course, this is only a theory. The reason there are blank patches it because Diablo now erases items after a certain amount of time has passed and they are untouched.

Yeah, the best is when you join a game and you find the Rogue Encampment covered in gold. Sometimes people spell funny things.
