Aeval went to the Bahamas and all she got for me was a fever So Aeval's company sent her on a weekend cruise with her team to the Bahamas. She arrived back Monday night, came over, and Tuesday morning we both woke up with clogged sinuses and sore throats. Whatever, no big deal. Then by last night, she's running 101.5 degree fever (she normally runs 96 degrees when healthy, so that's extraordinarily high for her), sore throat, aches, chills, and other fun phlegm-related symptoms. I myself feel feverish, have super-swollen lymph nodes (I feel like I swallowed golf balls), have a very painful sore throat, watery/scratchy eyes and my sinuses are misbehaving. That said, yesterday was my first day of work at a new job (!!) so staying home and resting is not really an option for me. Moreover, my mother, father, aunt, uncle and 3 cousins are in town this week, so when I get off work at 6:30 I'm basically expected to spend the next several hours being social. Sooo much fun. Any suggestions on how to keep this from getting worse so I don't have to miss my first week of work? So far I'm making an effort to eat healthy (dinner last night was broccoli, roast beef, and fresh spinach), drink lots of OJ/Gatorade/other juices/water, and make sure I'm keeping up in my vitamins. Any other home cures out there? Necrolestes, a diagnosis? One of Aeval's coworkers who has similar symptoms and went to a doctor (about half of her team contracted whatever this is...sounds like incest to me...) was given codeine cough syrup and told to stay home, diagnosed with some sort of viral infection.
