    Adventure Game Recommendations

Ok guys, time to recommend some good adventure games. Cheap is good, but I imagine most are at this point. I have a fairly crappy computer, so nothing too new. I never did too much adventure gaming, though I think I am going to start with Day of the Tentacle (Maniac Mansion) and go from there. Leisure Suit Larry will probably come up, and Grim Fandango, but beyond that, what else is there out there?

Monkey Island. Any of them. Classics (and best) of the genre pretty much.

Well, I am fairly new to the genre, so what would be my best starting point? I mentioned Day of the Tentacle because I have very fond memories of Maniac Mansion and briefly playing the game at a friends house and having a great time at it. I used to love playing Hugos House of Horrors as a kid, too.

Yeah, like the Brit said, any Monkey Island game is more fun than a computer full of monkeys. The last one, "Escape From Monkey Island" was pretty lame, compared to the others.

How about any of the Lands of Lore games? Though I don't know if Westwood is still in business.

Best fantasy game ever: Betrayal at Krondor. Came out in 1993 and still is quite the rad.

Day of the tentacle is a great game to start with. It´s one of my all time favourite games.

Simon the saorcerer 1 is pretty good as well.

Zork is good, text based fun.
Google it, since it is public domain, or play it online.

My Favorite Adventure Game is Betrayal in Antara it is from Seirra and is rather old so it should work on almost any computer. but you will need to download the patch to complete the game because of a error in the game.

Another good one is Seige of Avalon, although it isn't crappy computer friendly

Monkey Island fo sho! The first 3 were all good imo. Day of the tentacle, that biker one from Lucasarts, actually almost any adventure game from Lucasarts was damn good.

You can never go wrong with Sonic the Hedghog (notably 1, 2 3, and Sonic and Knuckles)
