A Zod in an ethereal item?

am I correct in assuming it will make the ethereal item indestructible, hence useable forever?

I got an ethereal bonehew long time ago, has 2 sockets on it. It has been on a merc for the longest time and then I looked at it again and realized that dumb thing does 933 max damage. So now *I* want to use it.

    So, would a Zod work?

It should work, as the durability goes to zero bug has been fixed.

Zod makes an item indestructible. Sure it can be used in any socketed item, but I don't think someone will be foolish enough to spend a zod on a non-ethereal, or an auto-repair item.

Concerning the ethereal bonehew, don't use a zod since items on mercs never lose durability.

he said "he" wants to use it, taking it away from his merc.

933 dmg sounds pretty good... whats the ED of your bonehew? sounds moderatly high :)

I think many would argue that zoding a bonehew is a waste of such a valuable rune and that they'd rather use it for a BotD or something. I'm not saying you shouldn't do it. Half the fun of this game is trying to be original and not just another cloned bnet drone. An eth BH does very respectable damage, just be aware of this.

What type of character would you use it with btw? A ww polearm barb is perhaps the first that comes to mind..?

unfortunatly, i dont think WW will set off the 50% CTC bonespear. IMO, a concentrator would be a better suited attack for the bonehew.

When you have an ETH item, and you don't have a zod, so you play with that ETH untill its dura is come to 0.

If you then (when the dura is 0) put your selffound ^^ zod in it, will it be use-able again?

To the best of my knowledge, nothing can be socketed into an item which is broken. In the case of non-ethereal items, it must first be repaired. In the case of ethereal items, you're hosed. You'd have to stop using it at 1 durability to try this plan.

    1. I wouldn't use it.

    2. You're wasting a zod.

    3. Durabilty never goes down on a merc.

    4. It's better on you're merc.

    Mak~
