A thread about right and wrong.

Durf got the point. I couldn't agree more, good job Durf, I blame you for not post earlier.

However, since I'm on break from SPF, I won't step in this thread much, but tell the reason why I feel so bad about the "changes" here.

1) majority of people here are great, honest, (insert good words here)
2) however, there are double standard developed here. On one hand, anything unlikely drop (not impossibe, just not common), there are too many speaking in nagtive word. every not 100% hardcore purist action is called "cheating". On other hand, teach something like how to MAKE legit looking 1337 items is considered okay/good  From what I've "learnt" here, if I want (I will never do), I could easily make ANY items in game. This double standard is THE thing I cannot cope with.

Problem: the population here's too dynamic... high traffic, low consistency.

Solution: none. :p

New members' behaviour on the boards are pretty much affected by a certain amount of inevitable lurkhood. What goes on now sets a trend. And how did this new trend start? A sudden, overwhelming and consistent wave of new members.

Nothing against new members though, just that i think there's a new trend here that changes the way things work.

Love it or leave it, i guess. My choice seems to be becoming obvious. :D

I guess that some day I may start to hack and dupe items to try new stuff at D2. Why the heck would I spend the runes to make stuff as Passion, Beast or Famine? I simply do not have spare runes for such things, but I would love to try non-druid werebear, non-pally zealot or avenger, or non-barb zerker with warcries. Since doing so legitly may lie beyond the limits of my patience, I may do it sometime. And as you people expect me to not meddle in MPs and trades when I decide to do it, I expect not to be stoned and dubbed unholy for doing as I please on my machine.

Respecting the rules and the forumites are the keys. Of course that those who play "as the game was supposed to be played" deserve more respect, but it is getting to the point where people start lying about being purist just to avoid being shunned. At least it looks so. For myself, I can say that I keep any and all original items stored in methodically organized hundreds of mules, and all my chars wear dupes from these. When I trade, I delete the original and all the copies from my chars. If I get a new Gheeds, I just throw away the one I am using to get the new one. I see it as acceptable, though somewhat tainted, and I do not see any need to explain stuff to trade stuff I find. My chars are my own and no one else's, so I guarantee that no 2 copies of any of my items will be in play ever. That is fine enough for me, and probably fine enough to most of you.

And for all the sins of intolerance and prejudice, in this forum or anywhere else, Durf, thou shalt be blamed!
