a thought for some builds

Know all those sets we like to wear? Has anyone made those characters? I.e. a paladin wearing all Griswold's set, his name... Griswold. Or Arcanna and Cathan, the sister sorceresses. Let's not forget the vampire Trang-Oul either, but of course everyone will follow the Immortal King.

Seriously though... now granted I'm no where near completing a self found grail of any kind, in fact i think I only have about 4 completed sets (civerb, cathan, berserker's and hsaru's), but I think I'd wanna do that once I've found enough items.

Create a character, raise him/her to the minimum level requirement to wear all the pieces of their particular set, and deck it out. Take screenshots of everyone and make a big collage of the ancient Heroes of the world. Of course each person wouldn't be able to wear any other set items besides their own.... but I suppose Griswold could wear his sword and his unique sword on switch or something. ;)

Random 7am thoughts...

So has anyone ever done this? thought about doing it?

I have also done Natalya. I tried an Isenhart Paladin back in 1.09 and got him to Act1 Hell before I got bored of him. It just took to long :p

I am planning on a IK Barb and Griswold Paladin in the near future. Just need the IK Armor, and Griswold Shield/Weapon and I am ready to go.

And you could complete the Nihlathak quest to get a few more items to with the name theme...

I was actually planning on doing this for each and every Set and Unique item. One character per set, and one per unique. If some uniques clearly belonged together (similar names) they got on the same character. And in addition, I wasn't going for just equipping, I wanted to make them kill Hell Baal too (unboosted, as I had one computer and no Internet access at home). I never finished it, because I found more games to take my attention, and I was actually a bit newbish at the time, so I left Diablo alone for a while.

yah, the personalize quest would allow you to wear more items, granted, it wouldnt be part of the set, but it would still be, for example natalya's souldrainer vambraces, or whatever

In the case of Isenhart's, I'd suggest Isenhart's Cracked Sash, Isenhart's Crude Leather Gloves, and Isenhart's Low Quality Boots.

If you went through with a couple of Isenharts you could even throw in Isenhart's Ring of Light and Isenhart's Amulet of Replenishing (replenish life+2)...

Back on-topic... I haven't completed enough sets to make this viable for me to try, but what about the Cow King set? Does he (she, it, whichever) qualify as a Legendary Hero? :)

Back off-topic... Gotta be a he. How many female kings do you know of? :D

*fights back urge to tell wholly inappropriate joke about all those stamina potions*

Resume topic, please.

Ah, but how many male cows do you know of? Technically speaking it should be the 'Cow Queen' or the 'Bull King'... </pedantic>

This has always bothered me too! Maybe I'm too pedantic as well!

And we really don't need to hear about those stamina potions - let's just assume they're bottles of milk.

I have an IK Barb in HC right now he is at level 78 and glowing like hell.
It's a concentrate barb and can handle everything that have been thrown at him so far.

All of my characters have used a class-specific set. I haven't named them according to the set, because I thought that just wasn't very creative. I have a Necromancer wearing the Trang-Oul's set (the original Kremtok), an Assassin wearing Natalya's set (Jinx, from the James Bond movie), a Socreress wearing Tal Rasha's set (Emma, after Emma Watson), and now an Amazon wearing M'avina's set (Laurana, after Lauralanthalasa). As soon as I'm done with Laurana, I'll start a Paladin to wear the Griswold's set. Well, I suppose I'll have to find the shield first, but I have everything else.

Anyhow, I'm just trying to say that, yes, it can be done.

I'm with Kremtok. It seems cooler to have a new character wearing a legendary individual's set as opposed to the legendary individual him/herself. I'm working on a similar set of characters, but am losing interest after the crappiness of a FA 'zon using M'avina's set. IK and Tal's rock my world, though. :)

Cool deal, though. Themed characters are pretty awesome.

edit: plus, I was able to name my IK barb Vercingetorix. :p

Wait.. did I read that right? You didn't name your characters after the items because that's not creative.. so you named your characters after other stuff?

Now my head hurts.. this should help. :drink: Sláinte!

and yet the bad Christopher Lambert movie (yes I know saying 'bad' and 'Christopher Lambert movie' is rundundant) about him was inexplicably called 'Druids' in the U.S.

It almost sounds like you're trying to insult me in some way. Surely, that is not your intention.

To elaborate, I name my characters after "other stuff" to do honor to them: Emma Watson is hot, that chick in the James Bond movie is even hotter, and Lauralanthalasa is probably my favorite character in the Dragonlance novels. Now tell me, is that not more creative than to simply copy the title of the set?

Hehehe. Although you posted this first, I made a reply in the other thread about the cow level before I read it. I see your mind is as dirty as mine.
