A revelation....maybe.

Does anyone know whether the telekenesis charges on rings affect energy shield in the normal synergy/charge way? Like the prison charges on marrowalks affect bone armor, etc.

I have never seen this mentioned before and if it works, some builds will be able to have an effective energy shield while spending 20 instead of 40 skill points.

Just wonderin

Charges always work in that way, BUT only if you have not invested hard skillpoints into the skill, that you would like to replace by charges.

Are there lvl20 Telekinesis charges? Or would you not need that highlvl charges?

lol oh yeh i forgot that
telekenesis is a prerequisite for energyshield
this problem could only be overcome by not puting any points in energy shield or telekenesis and using an orb or staff to grant the sorc the skill of energy shield.
I should have thought more about it

@Panda: Well, ya, you'd have to have a ring with charges of level 20 or more TK, to make it worth while, which to my knowledge dosen't exist. Then, you'd need something that grants you at least +1 to ES, probably a memory staff, giving a possible +9 to your ES (if you have a natural staff mod of +3 ES.)

The thing about the synergy bug is that it's only the level of the charges that make any difference, if you have a ring with lvl 2 TK charges you'll only gain a level 2 synergy, regardless of how many +lightening/+sorc/+all skills you have. And again, that's only providing that you don't invest anything in TK.

IMO, investing nothing in ES is quite doable, however, I think TK should always be maxed if you're using ES.

Ring of TK charges...

Enigma armor or Ormus +3 teleport armor worn at all times...

Memory staff on Weapon switch...

Actually quite viable...

Argh, infact really quite viable!
This would save 20 points. With prebuff you could also get a decent lvl ES and you could choose another tree for more skills.

Is lvl14 max for charges or can one get lvl20 infact? *goes looking*
For PvM at least lvl14 Tk and lvl 15-20 ES would be way ok.

No the question is: Do you only need the ring for prebuff, or do you need to wear it all the time? :D

Looked into bnet first. Charged is only a suffix and can have various skills. It says NOTHING about the lvl that thecharged skill can have, so i guess 20 would be max. This would indeed be fun to use, especially if you would only need it for prebuff. On NL nowadays Enigma is not that expensive :)

Panda_fury, would you be so kind as to try this out? I would like to know if you only need to wear the ring to prebuff ES, or infact all the time. Should be easy to detect.
