When running P8 it is important you focus primarily on bosses and champions and avoid the other regular enemies. If you can do this effectively then it does pay off to run high player levels. With my current trapsin I can clear Pindle in about 25 sec at P7 (there is no difference regarding MF) and that has yielded me some pretty decent gear. I'm only running with about 350 MF and 1 skiller and its so easy I can pretty much fall asleep and do it. And all on hardcore. And yes, DS does lose some of its power, but it is still worth dropping 1 along with your other traps as it can still deliver some decent damage.

Lvl 45 now, just starting NM. Got Rhyme now and 200 MF. I expect to be at ~350 at the end of NM so I should get some decent stuff from Meph. Will also do Countess runs.

Next thing is insight for the merc and of course 4s gothic plate with ptopazes.

What charms to you keep for cubing? Only the Baal-charms, right?

What do you do with crap rare rings/amulets/jewels? Sell, right?

I'm beginning hell now at lvl 75 completely geared towards MF. Got 288 MF now and two topazes left for the armor. After that I will have 336. I am aiming for 350 MF. Resists are non-existent right now. Will improve that a bit as I go but after Anya-quest they wont be much over 30 each with the MF-gear.

Do you guys recommend to clear hell on players8 for exp/items or save that for the TC85 runs after beating the game?

You can cube any charm with ilvl higher then 70 (don't remember the exact number) to roll skillers. If you wan to get skiller with 'of vita' mod (+41-45 life) then you need charms from baal/diablo/nihlathak.

I sell useless rares, but you can use the jewels for crafting.

Without high resists it will be hard to finish the game especially on P8. I would focus more on survival then on MF while questing. You don't have to finish the game before you start your MF runs, you have the pit (act1) and AT (act2) and you can stop there until you bored/found what you needed.

Unless you have very good gear, hell on P8 will be slow going at best, better do it on P1 and hit MF areas as fast as possible.

You can cube skillers from charms with ilvl 50 and up. Those can be found in NM flayer jungle (and some earlier bosses since they have higher ilvl).

As for the jewels i was gonna say blue, but the D2 wiki says both magical and rare work. Arreat summit even says 'any jewel' which would imply even unique jewels would work. Don't know if that is to be trusted though.
