A New Recipe - Homemade Hot Sauce for Wings/Tenders

Ok this is installment 2 in what I’ve decided to make my bi-weekly recipe thread.

3/4 cup – catsup
1/3 cup – Tabasco sauce
3 tbls – soy sauce
6 – Habanero peppers (use a rubber glove when cutting these)
6 – Chili peppers
6 – Jalapeno peppers
2 – Ancho (Poblano) peppers
1 – Green pepper (remove seeds and core)
1 – tsp salt
1 – tsp vinegar (will help preserve the sauce)

Combine all ingredients into blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a jar, keep in refrigerator for up to 2 months.

If you wish you can put it in a pot and bring to a boil, let simmer for 15 minutes then put it into a jar, this will allow it to stay good for up to 6 months but will remove some of the heat.

Also if you wish to make it less hot, remove the seeds and the inner white membrane from all the peppers as this is where you will fine most of the heat. The seeds don’t have as much heat as the white membrane and tend to be less than pleasant to most people so you can remove those but I generally leave them in on all but the green pepper.

If you do decide to make this and aren’t accustom to eating very hot foods have a glass of milk or even better a small bowl of ice cream near by. Never use water as it will only spread the heat around your mouth.

Yogurt works well too, as do cucumbers. Bread is another one that will help.

Also stay the hell away from carbonated drinks, or alcohol, its like pouring gasoline in the fireplace.

Yeah dairy products are the best because they can break down the enzyme that causes the heat or something like that

it is and I usually start sweating just from eating it but about 10 minutes after I finish of the dozen or so wings I get all light headed and just have this awsome feeling, it's like legal drugs last for up to 30 minutes or so, the joys of food.

Fresh Chopped Mint in Yoghurt goes well in combating Spicy foods, as does sugar.

Actually capsaicin is alcohol soluble, so swishing a shot of vodka around your mouth should help a bit. Then again, which is worse, the heat or the vodka?
