A New Begining

Well I have decided to start over...I was using some mods that are not accepted by the forum and now after my second character has become corrupted I have decided that im no longer gonna be using said mods. I have un installed diablo 2 and the mods that I was using so now im starting fresh. The major deciding factor is now I can trade with you all...Dont worry I have comepletely started over and have no items from the mod's I was using...So I have downloaded Gomule but for some reason I cannot find the saved games to load a character onto gomule...if anyone can help with that I would appriciate it greatly.

Its not in the normal save file in the D2 folder...I dont know where its saving the character's at the moment...Thats what im having issues with.

AFAIK the save folder path is found somewhere in the system registry within blizzard/diablo branches, can't really remember and give more details as currently I don't have the access to the machine where my Diablo II copy is installed.

Or - a pretty indian code style advice - you can search for all *.d2s files on your HDD using the search functionality provided by windows itself (assuming you're using a windows OS, that is).

It was a while ago I installed D2 but isn't there a problem with Windows xx (Vista or 7, can't remember..) where you need to change the settings into show hidden files, for some reason they are considered system files and not visible to the normal user?

If you are using Windows, it might well be in a strange place. Try looking on your hard drive under:
:\Users\your name\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (86)\Diablo II\Save

That's where my stuff ended up, so it's worth looking. If that path doesn't work, try searching for AppData. Good luck!

Sweeeeeet...Thats where it was at thanks guys!!!!!! been a great help...now I cant seem to get RWM working lol...I changed the stuff on the shortcut and it says its not right...
