A great way to take out some clan leader; {try at your own risk :D }

This is mainly me poking fun at a clan who fell to this little trap.

~First, find a small clan that has their own channel & a bot and all that jazz {or a large one if you dont think your gona piss them off}.

~Next, make 100% sure that the moderating bot belongs to someone on that realm, that is in fact a leader or co-leader of the clan {which is usually true on diablo 2}

~Find someone in that clan who has some moderator access over the bot, and talk him or her into adding you with enouch access to have control over the bots winamp {iirc on stealthbot this is 80ish?}.

~Take some time off, or wait for your new friend to head off so that if you get caught, he or she wont get in trouble and the blaim wont be spread everywhere and no serious fights will take place.

~Next time you see the owner of the bot, and the bot is in their channel, challenge them to a duel! Tell him a 1v1, one chance, no complaints or interuptions or stopping in the middle of it duel.

~Equip your crappiest mule with whatever gear you have that you ~might~ be able to kill someone with if you get a few lucky hits. I personally chose an old lancer mule and gave him an eth banaras star and chose to use that good ol lvl 1 berserk.

~Make damn sure you show this person your gear, all of it, and charms, and dont make any more trips to town or your stash, so that he is 100% sure thats what your gona use in the duel.

~Before the duel starts and after he or she sees your gear, raise the stakes; if you win the duel, you get his or her position in the clan {but dont request their gear or character or accts, that would be stupid bets for this}.

~Start the duel, be as gm as possible, say go and all that jazz. First play defensivly, try to stay alive!! {I chose to use concentrate for the first part, actually got a hit in!}

~Type /m *{insert clan bots acct name, usually the channel name} .load winamp

this alone will cause the other guy slight lag, if your offense is strong you might make the kill here

~Type /m *bot .setvol 100

You might want to skip this step if you opened yourself up to multiple duels. If its more than a 1v1 1time only sorta thing, reset his computers volume the second duel just to screw with him more

~Type /m *bot .play

If he or she doesnt die, it usually means that they have two computers, a really really really good computer, they have mute on and pushed threw the lag and killed you, or they have a headache and are just stubern enough to not die.

~After killing him and denying what he said happened to his {present} friends, I jokingly gave up the west position of clan vom, or von, or something around that name prefix.

Just be nice and careful not to start any clan wars :laughing:

And of course, this is a joke, dont take advantage of someone and really take something from them, tis only a game guys.

Sounds like fun, huge time investment though.:wink:

sounds like a bunch of gibberish.

If you wanna duel a clan leader why not just ask and talking trash is the best way to get them to duel you.

and i think you are making to big of a deal out of it. Dueling in d2 is different from a duel to the death in real life.

You know that its quite possible that:
1) they don't even have winamp
2) they don't have any songs on winamp
3) volume off

Blobswannabe, the point of this is to blow some high ranking person everyone looks up to apart with a peace of crap build and make him feel bad. Everyone here is quite able to build a solid dueler if they want a truly gm duel.

Aggress, I tried toying with this before I even thought of doing this in a duel. One of my friends has a channel bot that doesnt have winamp, and he reported that even without it, he got slight lag when the bot tried to load it. I guess lag from searching for something that doesnt exist?
