    a few barb questions

well i'm thinking of making a thrower barb and had these questions:

1.if i'm using throwing axes, will the throwing mastery and axe mastery stack?

2.does frenzy work with throwing weapons?

3.what axes are best suites for a build like this?

1: Axe mastery works ONLY if you swing the weapon. If you THROW the weapon, you use throwing (they don't stack).
2: You can frenzy with throwing weapons (in melee), however, the IAS from fully charging up frenzy does apply to throwing weapons (and all other barb combat skills except WW (I'm not sure if you swing faster with Leap Attack).
    3. Gimmershreds or Lacerators generally work well.

Also, you can try crafting blood axes to get some with godly damage. Buy the axes from Hell Malah.

Lots of the elite throwing weapons come with the replenish quantity mod. So if you're lucky enough to find an ethereal one they can work. Still, I find they don't replenish fast enough and the non ethereal ones have pretty poor ed.

A good rare will beat any of the non-eth uniques otherwise.

What CRG said, you need gimmershred for PIs (and as backup weapon just in case).

On a related note, will javelins use Spear Mastery if you stab with them?

    Yes, they will.

    On subject:
    1. Only throwing mastery works when throwing your axes.
    2. Frenzy works with throwing, allthough you might find it somewhat irritating. You need to swing a couple of times to charge up, then you can throw your axes at great speed for what, 8 seconds? and then you need to run into the monsters again to charge up. The point of a thrower is that you don't have to come close. 1 point is all you need here (IMO) and even then you'll probably won't use it often.
    3. Just find axes with the repair mod. I don't know if you're twinking, but the repairmod is THE most important mod on your weapon.. you can caft those 450 ED axes, but without repair you'll have to tp to town every 3 minutes because run out.

Good luck, a thrower is a ton of fun :)

Luckly the repair cost of throwing items are really low 1 gold IIRC. :)

No thrown and axe masteries don't stack but using the axe in melee and throwing will use different masteries so consider having points in both masteries.

Fenzy and throwing is a dangerous combonation, you get throwing 10 or so weapons at a time and Oops you throw your last one well their goes that long looked for rare. You are a ranged character use that and keep some patients while you play.

Also don't be afraid to have a shield thrown weapon on the switch some times that shield is worth having for the extra blocking.

Repair mod is a must, increased stack size is also good to look for, a rare with both of those and the cruel affix priceless.

If they have replenishing. My Blaze Enchantress´ Cruel Harpoon costs nearly 2000 to "repair".

Not anymore (in 1.10). Only the non-magical throwing weapons will vanish if you throw the last one.
