Damn, I just missed the edit deadline.
Well, I have completed my first anticipated obstacle. I ran into PI's all through the Maggot Lair and the Far Oasis. And they succumbed to Decrepify. The maggot lair was not very difficult, although it did take a good 20 minutes because I had to use vengence/conv on most of the PI's.
So far only 3 potentially dangerous situations have been encountered.
The first came when Rada spawned FE. If you know it or not, Rada deals a huge load of damage when he dies and the FE explodes. I wittled him down (rather quickly) and let the merc get the kill.
Also, a Lightning beetle spawned FE in the Maggot Lair. In the past, I have died from them because of their dual elements. Again, I got its HP very low and let the merc kill. Even with 85% adn 20 straight absorb I was taking some decent hits from it.
Also, I checked and I have 71 stat points left. I also added 350 HP worth of vita charms bringing me up to 1300 HP, which should be enough for a melee character to get through the game easily, even with my sick and twisted challenge. Thus, I am going to use an SC to check how much damage I can add with one point of STR, and if it is decent, I'll drop the rest into STR.
On another good note, I found a Colossus Crossbow (from the FE/LE beetle in the lair) and a Thundergod's Vigor from an urn in the Far Oasis. This is turning out to be a profitable run.
Also, for you rune junkies, I have found an Io and a Hel rune thus far.
