A beer thread

It seems like its been quite a while since a thread devoted to beer has graced the pages of OT, therefore, I am taking it upon myself to create one. After all, a beer thread is what really drew me in to this whole realm of rhetoric and jibber-jabber. Anything on the topic of beer will do, a tasty brew you've just experienced or late night drunken antics are fair game. Personally, I would like to get some suggestions on something good to drink. Ive been on a wheat beer kick lately. Aside from Boulevard wheat, which got me started, I really enjoy Pyramid hefeweizen and blue moon. Ive also had Sam Adams Weiss Bier and found it quite tasty, as well as a handful of others. Any suggestions?

I had 6 shiner bocks last night. Don't drink more than 3 of them in an hour, you will feel like ****.

I love them though :teeth:

Yes, drinking lotsa shinerbock is bad...

As common as pabst blue ribbon seems, ive never tried it. Ill have to try it out. Anyone ever had casta? Its a mexican brewery that makes wheat beer, its quite interesting. It kinda tastes like wheat beer, but there is something strange about it. Give it a try though, see what you think.

Shiner...eh? Did you have the pleasure of attending Bocktoberfest? The bands kicked *** this year and beer that fresh isn't half bad.

Anywho, if there is nothing else and the beer is free, I prefer a nice Corona with a lime. That is the candy of beer and the only kind I can willingly drink.

I am in college.

Therefore, I love anything that is in the keg. I do not discriminate! We have a bunch of Beercists here. Beercism is a big problem. Dont beergregate. We need a Beervil Rights Movement.

I used to think the same way, then I moved on to beers like corona and dos equis...beers that arent quite domestic, but really arent import either. That led to a cornucopia of delicious brew that I have yet to break the proverbial surface. I moved on for two reasons. (1) Domestic (US) beer tastes like piss water and (2) it tastes even more so when the state you live in only serves the 3.2 version of those beers. This backwards state in which i reside, among many other very dumb pieces of legislation, does not allow cold 6.0+ beer to be sold because 3.2 beer is considered a non-intoxicating substance...tell that to the hundreds of drunk-*** co-eds walking home from the bars every night. Just give up the high point beer, people who wanna get drunk are gonna get drunk.

Sechs light beer. Pronounced "seks".

Advertising slogans:

"How you have Sechs is none of our business."

"As long as you are 21, it's okay to pay for Sechs."

"Tell them about the first time you had Sechs."

And my favorite...

"It's okay to have Sechs by yourself."

Don't drink the stuff here, but i have to admit, that if everyone in the whole world drank beer, it would be alot more friendly... and deadly.. some of those wackos...

Beer can be divided into many categories, most of them tasty.

For everyday drinking, I prefer PBR, Mickey's Malt, and Rolling Rock.

For special occasion drinking, I like a Flying Fish. They have an excellent Lager and a very good Belgian ale. Rogue River Brewery is good, but I'll only drink it in the NW. It's a crying shame that Deschutes Brewery is not more well known. Same with MacTarnahan’s and Pyramid.

As for imports, I do like VB, but it's tough to get.

I refuse to drink Budwesier and most U.S. mass-produced beers on principle; the principle that they taste like drity socks and wet dog.

Of beer I prefer stuff like Bass & Guiness. I wish I could find Full Sail Pale Ale, but I think it's been discontinued :(
