    A bat ruined my night

A'right, so thats how the bat story begins. It was about the time i got to sleep, i sleeped (can't remember what i was dreaming of, sorry) It was about 4:00 a.m when i woke up because i was hearing something. I get myself to the lamp and turn it on. Then i saw it. A little bat flying in circles. I get a tennis racket and tried to hit it but i think i need more pratice because i couldnt it the bat. I called my parents in reinforcements and we finally got the bat down (after a race in the house). :prop: So thats how a bat ruined my night :undecided:

While bats are the topic, the other day I was in the pool and one swooped down and hit me in the back of the head.

It's just a bat, you could've left it there until morning.

    P.S. "slept"

Yeah, it's not like it'll vant to suck your blood or anything. I'd have peeled an orange and fed the little guy. He was probably spooked and hungry.

bats are just annoying in the house, in the wild they eat bugs, moths, flies ect...

its fun standing outside and watching them do fly-bys taking down mosquitos

just kick them out, and look around the house for where they might be finding a way in, and block it as best you can, screen up under eves, vents ect...

speaking of critters in homes, i once had a family of squirrles living inside our house, they used to tease my poor 12 year old terrier into a frenzy. we ended up finding out how they got in and sealed it

When I went to China there would be bugs all over the place and the sky would be covered in bats. Every so often a bat would fly into the house then navigate its way out again.

Bats are very cool. I wouldn't want one in the house, but I really love watching them outside.

Wouldn't they be more likely to bite you if you're trying to shoo them out than if you're just sleeping?

There was a bat in a corner of the school building back when I was in ~6th grade; they couldn't shoo it away, "because it was potentially diseased", so they called the masochistic janitor over to bludgeon it to death with a broomhandle.

Ahh the building blocks of life. It's so good to hear about adults teaching children to fear and kill animals.
*sarcasm. just in case any one took that the wrong way*

    I'm Batman.

To the guy that got hit in the head by a bat while swimming. I used to live near a swimming pool and at night we would see bats coming skimming the water, either eating bugs or taking a drink of water. You should have kept the bat and collected its guano (sp?) and sold it/used it for fertilizer.

When I was a kid my parents used to keep chickens in a coop out back. One of my friends (I say friend, but really he was a nasty little troll with poor hygiene who was the son of one of my mother's friends and I was forced to play with him when they were over) and I were playing in the coop and he invented a game called Whack The Baby Chicks With Sticks. In case you can't tell he was trailer trash...

I don't remember much since I was so young (eight I think) but I don't remember doing any of the hitting, but I must've played with them too rough at least. Anyway, most of the poor little things had to be put down, so my parents made me watch my dad lop their heads off with an axe. They figured that if I was going to be violent with animals I should see the consequences.

That little bastard got off scott free though, I got all the blame... ah, to be a kid again.

I don't know why I told that story, it's only loosely related.
